As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

WHAT ARE YOU WORTH
When we grow old, some of our self-worth diminishes right along with our ability to get up each day. Somewhere during middle age we become so busy taking care of our family and building a life, we tend to forget … Continue reading
EVERYONE MATTERS . . .
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER This acrylic painting, done completely with a pallet knife, is one of many favorites because it exhibits movement, contrast, depth and an energy which is often difficult to capture with mere brush … Continue reading
IS IT A WONDERFUL LIFE?
One of my favorite traditions for the holiday season is to sit back with a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” It’s a story of the impact each of us has on the world as we … Continue reading
WHAT DOES GOD SEE?
Smiles are wonderful ways of expressing your joy, excitement, contentment, approval and love, but sometimes a smile can just be a mask for what’s really going on in the mind of the face behind it. Even the supposedly strongest among us, … Continue reading
WE ALL MATTER . . .
When we grow older, our self-worth tends to decline. Unfortunately, when we pass retirement age, there’s a certain amount of discrimination in our country. People who have amazing life skills and experience often have little value in a society of … Continue reading
THE WEEK IN REVIEW . . .
Looking back and looking forward both bring challenges and joy. My problem is that I often lose sight of the highlights of the past week and the good things that lay ahead. Many times, we get lost in the mundane … Continue reading
JUST PASSING THROUGH
What is the world to me? This is a question we may tend to ask as we come to the end of our journey here on earth. We’ve traveled through roads unknown. We’ve wandered through deserts that parch the tongue … Continue reading
HAPPY LABOR DAY
I officially retired when I was 75. After a year, I discovered that something was wrong. I no longer had a routine. No more getting up at 6 AM. I could sleep until noon if I wanted to. No more … Continue reading
EVERYTHING HAS A PURPOSE
Almost seven years ago, we were holding garage sales to downsize for a move to a smaller house – about half the size of what we were living in. Both my husband and I are artists and have collected many … Continue reading
LIVE YOUR LIFE
When we’re limited by our age, by our health, our thinking, we tend to hold back on things we might still be able to do. I’m learning this more and more each day. Yesterday, a simple task of picking up … Continue reading
WHAT IS THAT ONE THING?
When days seem endless – when the world seems to come tumbling down upon you – when you think you can go no further – when tears overtake you – when prayers seem to go unanswered – when death seems … Continue reading
ARE YOU A PALEONTOLOGIST ?
During a time of restoration in our lives, both my husband and I took any kind of jobs just to make ends meet. I’d spent 13 years as a volunteer drama director at the high school our kids attended. With … Continue reading
WHAT IS MY VALUE?
According to US Government statistics, the average monetary value of a human life is ten million dollars. If you factor in inflation, you can kick that up another million or two. How do “they” come up with this number? It … Continue reading
IT’S JUST A SENIOR MOMENT ….
The majority of my posts this week have dealt with aging. I’ve tried to interject some humor into the whole thing, but there isn’t really anything funny about growing old. Our bodies have passed the expiration date, our senses have … Continue reading
MEMORY FAIL
The human mind is an amazing organ. It can hold more information than a computer, yet as we age, the data we’ve accumulated causes it to crash and even become useless. The one fear I have about growing old is … Continue reading
MEDICAL MISHAPS
We’ve all experienced some pretty weird things when it comes to medical issues. My acting troupe, “The Jewels of deNial,” has recently combined their talents to create this next episode of our radio show called, “Medical Mishaps.” The collaboration of … Continue reading
AGE OLD QUESTION – WHO AM I?
Carl Sandburg was an American poet who won 3 Pulitzer Prize awards or poetry and one for his biography of Abraham Lincoln. He was noted for his many volumes of verse and keen observations of life. When he passed away … Continue reading
THEATRICALIZING THURSDAY
My word for the day is “Theatricalizing.” This is what I do. I am a theatricalizer – or a Thespian – a playwright -a performer – an actor – and old to boot. This has been my chosen profession for … Continue reading
CHASING THE WIND?
Do you feel like it’s Groundhog Day, every day? Are you going through the motions of living, without really living? I am stuck at the moment. Life does get in the way of our living from time to time. How … Continue reading
IN THE IMAGE OF GOD
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and … Continue reading
