As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

DOWN & DIRTY
When things of this world envelope my soul, It’s time to get down in the dirt, To get my hands dirty and dig a big hole, To bury the junk and the hurt, I find in the garden a wonderful peace, That separates … Continue reading
SATURDAY SOLACE
PEACE IN THE VALLEY Trees absorb the swirling power of a raging creek after a storm, They stand at attention and then bow as they receive a cold splash of refreshment, Branches whisper to each passing droplet, As if speaking a silent prayer … Continue reading
EASTER MEMORIES
I recall the times when we would get all dolled up for Easter. Even the term, “dolled up,” is kind of telling. We put on our best. We wore brand, new clothes, shoes, hats, gloves and other adornments to celebrate … Continue reading
CAN THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH?
Traffic sounds rumble early on a frosty morning. The crash of box cars echoes from the tracks. People running here and there with so much to accomplish and so little time. You become invisible in a sea of bodies rushing – … Continue reading
CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN
Our morning devotion had to do with Psalm 121:1-2 “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” After a night of neighborhood noise and … Continue reading
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO BE THANKFUL FOR?
I consider myself to have been richly blessed with many special acquaintances on this planet. Of course my family is number one – my husband, my three children and their better halves along with their children and countless pets. I’ve … Continue reading

MUST I DIE TO HAVE PEACE?
Are you in search of peace? The world seems to have been looking for it for a very long time, yet wars continue – tempers flare – hatred, anger and power all add to our daily lives causing us to … Continue reading
PRESCRIPTION FOR JOY
Our world is too full of pain, trials, misunderstandings, hatred, fear and every other negative you can imagine. So much energy is spent on tragedy that there’s barely any time for a good belly laugh. When we get mired in … Continue reading
LIPSTICK ON A PIG
There’s a thing floating around on Facebook these days. If everyone posts fine art instead of political rhetoric on their sites, it will flood Facebook with beauty instead of the other stuff. I admit, I got suckered into it too. … Continue reading
SACRED TEARS
As we grow older, we expect to attend more and more funerals. This life is short, but for those who have been purchased and ransomed by God’s own Son, it doesn’t end there Today we’re attending a funeral of a young man, … Continue reading
CONTENTMENT
New hydrangea bush, planted yesterday – still blooming and so am I. “Revenge, lust, ambition, pride, and self-will are too often exalted as the gods of man’s idolatry; while holiness, peace, contentment, and humility are viewed as unworthy of a … Continue reading
IS TRUE PEACE POSSIBLE?
It seems each day brings more and more news of wars and terrorism. Even in the safety of our homes we are exposed to an evil world of hatred and anger. It’s pretty hard to find any peace of mind when everything around … Continue reading
VIGILANTE JUSTICE
A vigilante is defined by Webster as a person who is not an officer of the law, who pursues and punishes a wrongdoer or criminal. In other words, someone who takes the law into his own hands. Society today has … Continue reading
KATHY RANT
There are times when Maxine has wisdom beyond her years. Good heavens, did I really say that? I must be about the same age so I guess I’m allowed to express my opinion occasionally. Lately I’ve found myself sitting down … Continue reading
THE TANGLES OF EVERY DAY
We’ve been striving to downsize our life for the past few years, by weeding through a lifetime of things, memories and junk that continue to clutter and often get in the way of doing that. We continue to work at our jobs even … Continue reading
RANDOM THOUGHT
Original art by Paul T. Boecher © Soon this leaf cluttered green turned to the white of winter, bringing the solace of an icy, glimmering peace. We live life fully in the spring and rage through the heat of summer. Each season has its … Continue reading
PERSECUTION – IS IT EVER A GOOD THING?
We see the headlines every day – beheadings, dissection of human limbs from living bodies – a disgusting display of hatred upon one group of people because of their beliefs. Persecution is nothing new. It’s man’s way of showing disdain for other … Continue reading
