As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

HEY, WHAT’S THAT IN THE SKY?
With the sighting of several “weather” balloons in the sky recently, I couldn’t help but wonder why we go into panic mode when anything unusual happens. Instead of making light of it, we tend to turn our attention to the … Continue reading
IT’S JUST A SENIOR MOMENT ….
The majority of my posts this week have dealt with aging. I’ve tried to interject some humor into the whole thing, but there isn’t really anything funny about growing old. Our bodies have passed the expiration date, our senses have … Continue reading
SATURDAY SAILING
Spring has sprung and summer in the midwest is bound to be tomorrow. We’ve been having a pretty good entrance into the season we all look forward to in Minnesota. I recall summers on the lake and sailing regattas on … Continue reading
RAINY DAYS & MONDAYS
“Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;Thy fate is the common fate of all,Into each life some rain must fall”― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow As a child I used to think of rainy days … Continue reading
THERE’S NOTHING BUT GOOD NEWS
Some of you may know that I have absented myself from the news world for about three months now. The idea of ignorance being blissful is really quite true, and even though there are those who believe it’s important to … Continue reading
MONDAY MINDSET
It’s Monday . . . again. The Mondays seem to come faster and faster as we trudge through our journey here on earth. As we age, time in general goes rapidly, unlike the days of our youth when it seemed … Continue reading
IT’S OUR CHOICE
I woke up with a positive attitude this morning. The sun was streaming through the windows and beckoned me to wake early. I felt reasonably good in spite of a few aches and pains, but I’ve learned to accept the … Continue reading
WELCOME TO ONE OF MY WORLDS
Almost five years ago, we moved from our Minneapolis home to a house half the size in the small town of Anoka. The house has a history, because it was originally built in 1875 – suffered partial destruction in a … Continue reading
TGIMITAW – THANK GOD I MADE IT THROUGH ANOTHER WEEK!
In my younger days the thought of Friday always conjured ideas of having some time for fun, relaxation and spontaneous activity. In other words, I had two days of time when I could sleep late if I wanted to, not … Continue reading
FIRST RECORDING SESSION
A couple years ago, I started teaching some senior acting classes. This led to a core group of myself and two others, venturing into a totally different world for us. The three of us began a collaboration on a series … Continue reading
THROW BACK THURSDAY 2020
This sweet image is a common depiction of getting rid of one year and watching the start of a new one. Out with the old and in with the new, they say. For most of us, 2020 has been an … Continue reading
NEVER GIVE UP
I’ve used this image before, because it shows a sense of determination that we all need right now. It would be the easy way out for us to fall into the temptation of self-pity or depression. We have reason to … Continue reading
WHAT TO DO DURING A PANDEMIC
This time of isolation has opened up my kitchen to all sorts of new things – like actual meals made from scratch. I started posting these delicacies on Facebook and my sister tells me I should open a restaurant once … Continue reading
I DARED TO SHOP
We were down to the last leaf of lettuce, no juice, and getting low on canned goods and meat. The stores in my neck of the woods have been open for seniors from 6-7AM each day, so we ventured out … Continue reading
NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION
We’re now in week two of social distancing and already ideas are flying on how to interact with each other. It seems we are at our best when we have nothing to do. So, creative juices are flying. Minds are … Continue reading
AGING WITH A PLAN – PART II – 60-70
“When grace is joined with wrinkles, it is adorable. There is an unspeakable dawn in happy old age.” Victor Hugo Unlike most women, I wasn’t upset or depressed about this milestone. I’d begun my own business. I was busier than … Continue reading
FEELING CRISPY
There are some days when I feel full of energy and ready to leap tall buildings with a single bound and then I realize that I’m almost 77 and my cape has long since worn out. It’s then that my … Continue reading
HOORAY, IT’S SATURDAY!
Hooray, it’s Saturday – another week down in the annals if time – another ink blot on the pages of history. It should be a time of gratitude that the week is over, but as most weeks lately, it left … Continue reading
BRRRRRR ……
OK, I live in Minnesota. Why? Because I’m a glutton for punishment? Because I love extreme temperature changes? Because my hot flashes actually do feel good? There really isn’t a good reason. I live here because I was born here … Continue reading
TAKE A VACATION!
One day, my husband entered the kitchen in his camouflage under armor and said, “I bet you can’t see me.” My response was, “You’re right. I bet if you take your shirt off, you’ll be half the man you used to be.” … Continue reading
