As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

ANOTHER WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY!
The sun sprinkles a handful of fairy dust upon clinging icicles. Each one hangs on for dear life hoping that tomorrow the thermometer allows them to dwindle a bit, but in reality each day only adds to their girth. That … Continue reading
SURE SIGNS OF SPRING
Winter simply wants to hang on this year. We’re blessed to have help shoveling our way out. It’s not a pretty sight seeing to octogenarians outside in below zero weather, trying to push snow around. In my part of the … Continue reading

It seems this little month lacks in number of days, but there are plenty of things to celebrate. There actually are a lot of things going during this tiny month. It’s been designated National Heart Month, Black History Month, National Weddings Month … Continue reading
REMNANTS OF A SNOW ANGEL
We have certainly had our share of snow up here in the frozen Tundra of Minnesota. I used to love playing in the snow as a child. We’d build gigantic snow forts and load them up with fresh snowballs for … Continue reading

WINTER SCIENCE LAB
Winter blahs, cabin fever, vitamin D deficiency, and wind chill index are all negative terms used for winter. In Minnesota we take winter to a new level by throwing out terms like Winter Carnival, Ice Palace and ice sculptures. In … Continue reading
POINT OF VIEW
I remember a time, about 25 years ago, when my husband’s ever youthful exuberance took him on a yearly trek up to the Grand Marais area of Minnesota. He would venture out with several young couples for a weekend of … Continue reading
DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW
Every time we get a snowfall here in Lake Woebegone, we realize two things – why we do we live here and why don’t we move to a warmer climate? The snow blankets all the debris from the last storm, … Continue reading
WINTER WONDERLAND
This photo was snapped on our way to church this morning. We were on time, in spite of the time change and winter snow storm again last night. I’m beginning to believe I live in Narnia or that Dr. Zhivago … Continue reading
CABIN FEVER AGAIN!
Last week our city closed down because of the weather. My car wouldn’t start, our pipes were frozen inside the house and we had no recourse but to stay inside and be warm. As usually happens in Minnesota, if you … Continue reading
BRRRRRR ……
OK, I live in Minnesota. Why? Because I’m a glutton for punishment? Because I love extreme temperature changes? Because my hot flashes actually do feel good? There really isn’t a good reason. I live here because I was born here … Continue reading
WE’RE HAVING A HEAT WAVE
We’re expected to have a temperature of 40 degrees above zero today. When you consider we were suffering through minus 40 degrees with the wind chill last week, that’s an eighty degree difference. It’s time to get out the flip … Continue reading
WINTER WONDERLAND
Last night as I went to rehearsal for an upcoming performance of “Willie Wonka,” the temperature was around 53 degrees. A little rain fell during the day so the roads were wet, but it felt almost tropical for Minnesota. During the … Continue reading

Fire
Crackling flames spit sparks onto the sides of a fire pit. Golden toasted marshmallows hang tightly to a green branch. The chill of winter invades your joints and consumes your breath. A fleecy blanket caresses your shoulders. You move closer. … Continue reading
Minnesota White
The sky blankets us with a grey mask of clouds. The thermostat may not reach 20 today. Crystal shards line the street where a plow left its remains. The hardened, pressed snow crunches beneath your feet and your shoes collect … Continue reading
