As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

THE LAST DAY OF OCTOBER
Today is the last day of October and a lot is going on. First of all, Paul and I managed to hobble to the polling place yesterday and cast our ballots early. So that scary thing has been crossed off … Continue reading
ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN
Last week I talked about artificial intelligence and how we can become slaves to something we think will do our work for us. The world is filled with new stuff. We hear about it on a daily basis. Electric cars, … Continue reading
GOD SHATTERS THE DARKNESS
The opaque murkiness of an impenetrable sky surrounds you. Your mind swirls with empty thoughts. You feel alone, lost, unapproachable, frightened. There is nothing but darkness. There is the apprehension of mystery when you’re in complete blackness – a somberness that encumbers … Continue reading
SOMETIMES IT’S GOOD TO BE ALONE
Being alone is not always a bad thing. When we’re alone, we often tend to feel lonely – apart from others – let down – fearful – confused. Those same emotions can cover us when we’re in a room filled … Continue reading
WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS . . .
“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust;I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? All day they twist my words; All their thoughts are against … Continue reading
OH TO BE A BEATNIK AGAIN . . .
I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s – when you were either a square, cool, a greaser or a beatnik. I’m sure every generation has their own labels, but to be a beatnik in the 50’s might’ve been akin … Continue reading
STORMS A COMIN’
Standing alone in a storm as wind tears through the trees is not only frightening but lacks wisdom. Our bodies grow tense, the adrenaline flows, and all our emotions can explode into crushing fear. The sea rages as waves crash against each other. … Continue reading
BIG GOD, LITTLE ME
I stand in Your presence my God. Your strength surpasses the skies, I can’t comprehend an ant such as me could possibly gaze in Your eyes, I’m created in Your image, yet sin has caused a great distance, To wheedle … Continue reading
MELTING IN FEAR
The image above depicts what our landscape looked like a couple days ago. Within just a short period of time a snowfall of six inches, added to what was already on the ground. In just another short span most of … Continue reading
CALL ON ME . . .
We’re in a time in history when fear is probably our greatest enemy. The pandemic has placed most everyone in a bubble – in more ways than one. We fear being isolated from others. We fear getting a disease which … Continue reading
FRIDAY FEARS FRACTURED
“Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” -Yoda At last the mask mandated has been lifted for those of us who have been fully vaccinated. There is finally … Continue reading
CAN WE FIND GOOD IN THIS
Yesterday I went grocery shopping for the week. As I made my way through the aisles I couldn’t help but notice more people than usual doing the same. Some had filled their carts to capacity and even to the point … Continue reading
MY FIRST RUNAWAY
The first time I decided to run away from home was shortly after my only sister was born. You see, I was the firstborn grandchild on both sides of my family, my parents’ firstborn, and the most spoiled child you … Continue reading
SPOOKY TIME OF THE YEAR
I just finished stage managing “Sleepy Hollow, the Musical.” The title itself gives way to things that go bump in the night, yet there is the relief of turning this scary tale into a fun filled musical. Halloween happens this … Continue reading
AFRAID OR STANDING IN AWE?
I don’t deserve God’s forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. When I look back on my 76 years of living, all I can see is one failure after another. Who am I to be given such mercy? When … Continue reading
SAYING GOODBYE
Yesterday was a day of bringing up old memories, wounds, dirt and cobwebs. We finally began to tackle the plethora of boxes within our garage. These cartons and crates were tucked away when we moved last fall, to be gone … Continue reading
MY BASEMENT IS A DUNGEON
(This is not actually our basement, but looks sort of like it.) We moved from the city last fall, into a farm house which was originally built in 1875. This little treasure was almost completely destroyed during the tornado of … Continue reading
FEAR NOT!
Fear is mentioned many times in the Bible. The phrase, “Do not be afraid” was spoken, when God’s angels announced the birth of the Savior to shepherds. The Psalms are loaded with references to fear in King David’s prayers. The … Continue reading
BACK FROM LUNCH
Well a week ago, I was trying to sneak in a quick post to indicate that I would be offline for a while, because I was running a 9 AM to 3:30 PM musical theater camp. Needless to say, I … Continue reading
