As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

CONTENTMENT
New hydrangea bush, planted yesterday – still blooming and so am I. “Revenge, lust, ambition, pride, and self-will are too often exalted as the gods of man’s idolatry; while holiness, peace, contentment, and humility are viewed as unworthy of a … Continue reading
IS TRUE PEACE POSSIBLE?
It seems each day brings more and more news of wars and terrorism. Even in the safety of our homes we are exposed to an evil world of hatred and anger. It’s pretty hard to find any peace of mind when everything around … Continue reading
VIGILANTE JUSTICE
A vigilante is defined by Webster as a person who is not an officer of the law, who pursues and punishes a wrongdoer or criminal. In other words, someone who takes the law into his own hands. Society today has … Continue reading
KATHY RANT
There are times when Maxine has wisdom beyond her years. Good heavens, did I really say that? I must be about the same age so I guess I’m allowed to express my opinion occasionally. Lately I’ve found myself sitting down … Continue reading
THE TANGLES OF EVERY DAY
We’ve been striving to downsize our life for the past few years, by weeding through a lifetime of things, memories and junk that continue to clutter and often get in the way of doing that. We continue to work at our jobs even … Continue reading
RANDOM THOUGHT
Original art by Paul T. Boecher © Soon this leaf cluttered green turned to the white of winter, bringing the solace of an icy, glimmering peace. We live life fully in the spring and rage through the heat of summer. Each season has its … Continue reading
PERSECUTION – IS IT EVER A GOOD THING?
We see the headlines every day – beheadings, dissection of human limbs from living bodies – a disgusting display of hatred upon one group of people because of their beliefs. Persecution is nothing new. It’s man’s way of showing disdain for other … Continue reading
PUT THE BEST CONSTRUCTION ON IT
How can there be opportunity in tragedy? How do you make something good out of an excruciatingly painful situation? How do you find a silver lining when your life is filled with nothing but stormy skies? It’s not … Continue reading
Ascension Day
40 days had passed since his brutally crushed body was raised from death and He appeared to His followers. Some thought He was a ghost, others doubted it was Him. In that short span of time, He proved that … Continue reading
WHERE CAN I GO?
We all have special places of refuge – a quiet sanctuary, a peaceful meadow, a glorious forest, the mountains. It’s a place we go when the world is just too much to bear – where we can hide for a while … Continue reading
AND THEY’RE OFF!
I don’t think there’s a person in our country that doesn’t know the 2016 presidential race is now officially underway. The first potential female president threw her hat into the ring via a tweet and social media has exploded … Continue reading
HE BELONGS TO THE AGES
He knew his time was drawing near. His little band of men and a handful of followers went back to Bethany to spend one more day with his friends. It seemed appropriate. He had spent many happy hours in their home. When … Continue reading
GOD AND MAN
He spoke about the destruction of the temple and we all thought he was talking about the building in Jerusalem. He talked of things beyond our human comprehension. He quoted scripture as if he had authored the words. His advice … Continue reading
LORD, HAVE MERCY UPON US
Things are getting closer to home with the current threats of terrorism at the Mall of America in Minnesota. Our quiet home on the prairie isn’t as safe as we thought. The entire country should be on alert. Our land has … Continue reading
THIS ISN’T WHERE I LIVE
This planet’s not my home. I am an alien here. This place is just a hardened shell encasing sin and fear. The shell is hard to crack. There’s only one who can. He is the Lord of heaven. The Son … Continue reading
TAKE MY HEART
My heart Is stained with darkness. There is no good in me. I don’t deserve God’s forgiveness, but still, He loves me. I continue to turn my back on Him, but He won’t leave me. I put my trust in … Continue reading
COME QUICKLY, LORD, JESUS!
Lord, the signs of the end times are swirling all around me. Some of the prophesies are unfolding right before my eyes. It would be easy to believe that the final judgement is coming soon. Those who trust in you … Continue reading
WHEN PUSH COMES TO SHOVE
Each of us faces struggles in our lives. It might be something as simple as getting out of bed each day or as difficult as contemplating a life threatening disease. Each of our earthly problems might seem monumental at the … Continue reading
LET’S DO THIS!
Tonight my acting students open another show. I’ve lost count of all the opening nights, but each one of them holds great excitement and anticipation. Like any endeavor, we try to approach our goals using the best of our abilities. It’s … Continue reading
HISTORY LESSONS
I wasn’t much interested in history as a child. I should’ve been. I had one of the most dramatic history teachers ever. He would actually rise up on his desk and relive every battle of the Civil War right before … Continue reading
