As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

GOOD HAIR DAY
I love unusual holidays. March 26th is known as “Good Hair Day,” which is nearly impossible when we’re cooped up for over three weeks and can’t get to a salon or barber shop because they’re all closed. We could resort … Continue reading
YOU GOTTA LAUGH – PANDEMIC INSANITY
\ The first case of the Coronavirus has been discovered in Minnesota. Suddenly people are stocking up on toilet paper, bottled water, Lysol and hand sanitizer to the point that the big box stores are running out. The word “pandemic” … Continue reading
POINT OF VIEW
I remember a time, about 25 years ago, when my husband’s ever youthful exuberance took him on a yearly trek up to the Grand Marais area of Minnesota. He would venture out with several young couples for a weekend of … Continue reading
THE “JOYS” OF AGING
As another year and decade passes, each one of us is getting older. There is no escape from this malady, except for death and for many that’s the end of everything. I hope I never lose my zest for living, … Continue reading
WHAT IF OUR NATIONAL BIRD WAS A TURKEY?
These are the infamous “Johnson Street Turkeys” from our old neighborhood in Minneapolis. I’ve written about them before and in fact an article about them appeared in the local newspaper a number of years ago. This flock would carry on … Continue reading
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
OK, so I have two kidney stones. I’m not sure why these nuggets keep forming within me. I may be able to use them somewhere in my garden, but unfortunately these are the kind that need to be blasted, so … Continue reading
GIVING IN TO CLOSED CAPTIONING
I am slowly losing my hearing. With the high cost of hearing aids, I’ve been struggling along. This disability can be a disadvantage to a happy marriage. Having the television turned up so high forces the other partner into another room. … Continue reading
WOULDN’T IT BE NICE?
Something happens to a person’s mind when they acquire a virus. I’m not talking about being hacked, although it seems I may have been. I am talking about the kind of virus that gets passed from person to person … Continue reading
MY FIRST VACATION WITH MY HUSBAND
Picture this – it was almost fifty five years ago as my new husband and I embarked on our first vacation as a married couple. I know this would be considered ancient history in our culture today, but we’d only traveled together … Continue reading
TURN YOUR FROWN UPSIDE DOWN
In hopes of erasing some of the rhetoric and name calling going on over the past few months, I decided to devote this post to humor. The messes we create on a daily basis are often far from humorous, but … Continue reading
TECH WEEK!
The dreaded moment has come again. A time when my mind gives way to blankness with the addition of things like costumes, lights, complete set and use of props. Add to that the fact that my brain has slowly been … Continue reading
INTERNATIONAL TOWN CRIERS’ DAY
I enjoy looking at a site called Days of the Year, which lists all the special and unusual holidays at home and around the world. It’s amazing what people celebrate. Today is International Town Criers’ Day – one of those … Continue reading
ADAPTING TO OLD AGE
In today’s society 77 isn’t considered old, yet why do I feel like I’ve entered a new dimension – like the Twilight Zone? My hefty body has been supported by legs and feet which are beginning to falter under the … Continue reading
COUNTDOWN TO 77
Every time I go in for my six month physical, I feel like I’m getting an oil change. Each of my levels is checked to make sure they are functioning the way they should. I’m asked the same questions I … Continue reading
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THIS?
Starting somewhere in Europe and migrating to the U.S. in the early 1900s, this ridiculous tradition is supposed to bring good luck to your house. I’ve often placed pictures on my fridge along with lots of magnets containing contact info … Continue reading
SO, THIS IS HAPPENING AGAIN
Last October, I embarked on an old career. I stepped on the stage to perform again. The play was, “Southern Fried Funeral,” in which I portrayed Ozella Meeks, the church lady who tended to all the funeral arrangements. I guess … Continue reading
DAYS IN THE LIFE OF A MOTHER
Every mom has a few funny stories she drags up once in a while to amuse her friends or remind her kids of how much fun it is to parent. Our kids usually aren’t amused at the retelling, but that … Continue reading
WORLD PASSWORD DAY
There are so many weird holidays. You can even make up you own if you want to. Today happens to be World Password Day. How do you feel about them? For me, if I don’t write them down, I forget … Continue reading
MY WRITING JOURNEY
Only fifteen thousand words to go. Maybe I could add some ands, buts, pluses, likewises or toos. The word count has been my nemesis in this process. I realize words are a necessary component to flesh out my characters, so I continue … Continue reading
WELCOME TO MINNESNOWTA
At least the April snow showers waited until Final Four was over. I don’t know why we’re always surprised by a late snow storm in my state, because it has become apparent that we only have two seasons – winter and … Continue reading
