As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

THANKSGIVING MONTH
Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that’s been sandwiched in to fill the end of the year calendar. We don’t always stop to give thanks for the blessings we’ve received, but maybe it’s time we did. Last month, October, the … Continue reading
TURKEY DAY
It’s only three weeks until Thanksgiving – three Thursdays from now – less than a month away. Thanksgiving at my house usually runs anywhere between November 1st and November 30th. For years (far too many to count) Thanksgiving Day was … Continue reading
GIVE GOD THE GLORY
When we have successes in life, it’s easy to pat ourselves on the back even though the good that has been done really had nothing to do with us. Our work here on earth is as much of a gift … Continue reading
NOW THANK WE ALL OUR GOD
The image today shows the first Thanksgiving and the guests preparing to dig into a great feast from the bounty of their first year in the new world. The current trend is to think of these first pilgrims as invaders, … Continue reading
WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS
A couple of weeks ago, when it was still in the 50s, our granddaughter came over and retrieved our Christmas decorations from the attic in our garage. Both of us have resigned ourselves to not do any ladder climbing now … Continue reading

THANKSGIVING MEMORIES
The day we determine to give thanks for all our blessings has often signaled the beginning of the Christmas season with thoughts of how much money we can save by going shopping the day after we fill our bellies with … Continue reading
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO BE THANKFUL FOR?
This Thanksgiving will certainly be different. Our governor has put additional restrictions on our gathering because of the recent spike in COVID19. I know this is hard for most of us, but it’s just another glitch in a year that … Continue reading
WHAT HAVE WE GOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR
There are days when we don’t feel very thankful. Instead of being grateful for 8 months of time to take a serious look at our lives – to contemplate new and ingenious ways to do things – to be alive … Continue reading
WHAT HAVE WE GOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR?
It certainly would seem that this Thanksgiving doesn’t give us a lot to be thankful for. We’re basically going into lockdown again. We’re not being permitted to gather with our families and loved ones. We’re seeing an economy slowly dying … Continue reading
THANKSGIVING FRIENDSHIP
A great Thanksgiving story about two men in search of their own goals, comes together in the most difficult of situations and become lifetime friends in spite of it. John Candy & Steve Martin were perfectly cast for the film. … Continue reading
WHAT ARE THE MAGIC WORDS?
Do you remember those magic words – the words learned shortly after we began to speak. By the time we learned to say, “please and thank you,” we may not have had an inkling as to why those words were … Continue reading
WHAT IF OUR NATIONAL BIRD WAS A TURKEY?
These are the infamous “Johnson Street Turkeys” from our old neighborhood in Minneapolis. I’ve written about them before and in fact an article about them appeared in the local newspaper a number of years ago. This flock would carry on … Continue reading
FRUIT OF THE HARVEST
November brings thoughts of Apple Cider simmering on the stove – the scent of cinnamon permeates the entire house. Pumpkins have been carved and set on doorsteps. Straw scarecrows stand as guards at the door. Farmers are looking forward to … Continue reading
THANKSGIVING #3, 2018
For the past few years I’ve been sharing in the Thanksgiving feast of my youngest daughter’s extended family. Her mother in law hosts this gathering each year and puts on a spread you wouldn’t believe. There is so much food … Continue reading
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Today is Thanksgiving, 2018. It’s time for us to stuff ourselves beyond capacity – to fill every empty cavity with carbs and sugar – a time to forget about calories and just let it rip. After that, it’s a time … Continue reading
THANKSGIVING, 2018 – #2
Yesterday, marked Thanksgiving number two of my holiday feasts of overindulgence. Our church holds an annual Potluck Thanksgiving dinner, complete with turkey, ham, and all the fabulous side dishes and desserts. I picked the wrong time of year to be on a … Continue reading
MISSING THE JOHNSON STREET TURKEYS
I am ever thankful for our “new” old home, but every now and then I think about the house we spent the last 24 years in. We lived in a very convenient part of the city- close to all major … Continue reading
TEN REASONS TO BE THANKFUL
Americans will soon sit down to a sumptuous dinner and feast on foods served only on special occasions. As we fill our tummies with goodies, let’s try to focus on those who don’t have such bounty. Maybe you are faced … Continue reading
