As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

TEMPESTUOUS TUESDAY
This week I’m looking at words we don’t use very often, but they have a profound impact, nonetheless. Now that I mention it, the word “nonetheless” doesn’t get used on a daily basis either, but I’ll save that for another … Continue reading
MAUDLIN MONDAY
The image of Emmett Kelly is what I remember most about the circus clowns of the old days. Emmett expressed the epitome of maudlin. Maudlin describes itself as self-pity, over sentimental and often tearful. Later in my life, clowns took … Continue reading
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Well, it’s that time of year again. Time for parents to add to their credit card debt. Time for purchasing school supplies, backpacks, new clothes and shoes and the latest technology which will ensure your child’s success. All of this … Continue reading
FOREVER FRIEND
Many years ago, Carol King wrote a tribute to friendship in her song “You’ve Got a Friend.” When things are going bad and it seems like nothing is ever going to get better, it is good to know that there … Continue reading
LIFE GIVING WATER
Yesterday the clouds were heavy with rain – the air grew oppressive under the weight of high dew point levels.Within minutes the ominous clouds emptied in sheets of torrential rain upon the earth.Within seconds the air lightened. The clouds were … Continue reading
WHERE LIES YOUR TREASURE?
I don’t know about you, but pirates have always held a fascination for me. In the old days, we’d watch the swashbuckling antics of Errol Flynn. Today we put up with the rum swilling Johnny Depp – a much more … Continue reading
WHAT’S ON THE OTHER SIDE?
Your hand created all that is, it’s right before our eyes, You breathed the breath of life in us, the earth, the sea and skies, Every tiny cell and atom, lay in your strong control, You crafted each and every … Continue reading
INTO EACH LIFE SOME RAIN WILL FALL
The sound of gently falling rain upon a tin roof can be irritating or restful depending on your state of mind. A drenching upon the dry soil can be a welcome relief or it can flood things freshly planted and … Continue reading
AGING WITH GRACE
As we grow older, we’ve developed so many layers that our skin naturally becomes thick and hardened. Each day we encounter something that causes us to falter, to waiver, to hurt and to give up. We build a shield of protection around ourselves … Continue reading
WHY PRAY?
I’ve never had too much of a problem writing down my thoughts. I guess this is the way I can express myself without actually speaking the words. As I grow older, the words I speak get garbled or I use … Continue reading
DREAMY VILLAGE
No this isn’t the mystical little town of Brigadoon, the magical town filled with legend, love, tragedy and beautiful music. It.might be though. This is a town just north of the great cities of St. Paul & Minneapolis, but it … Continue reading
POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE?
There are days, when we really have to look hard for things that make us feel good about ourselves, our lives, our futures or our past. Those are the hardest days to get through, because we often find ourselves dwelling on … Continue reading
BIG GOD, LITTLE ME
I stand in Your presence my God. Your strength surpasses the skies, I can’t comprehend an ant such as me could possibly gaze in Your eyes, I’m created in Your image, yet sin has caused a great distance, To wheedle … Continue reading
HOW DID I GET LIKE THIS?
The child in me was already forming information about myself before I even knew who I was or how I fit into this world. Many times, we blame our current situation on those who influenced us as children. When you’re … Continue reading
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR WORTH
There are so many times in life that we feel inadequate or unintelligent. I could tell you that everyone goes through these feelings, but that isn’t going to solve the problem of a poor self-image. I guess time will heal … Continue reading
YOU WERE BORN FOR THIS TIME
The Book of Esther does not mention the name of God within its pages, but He is apparent throughout the entire story. It is a story of patience – waiting for God’s will to be accomplished – and faith that … Continue reading
ARTIST’S SKETCH BOOK
Sitting by the open seaside, gazing at the sky above, Reaching for the clouds in heaven, dreaming of a perfect love, Dreaming, waiting, hoping longing for a glimpse of heaven’s door, You can’t find it on this planet, if you … Continue reading
WHENEVER YOU FEEL ALONE . . .
I guess it’s OK to have a bad day, but I hate it when I’m the one having it. I know that things will be better tomorrow, but while I’m experiencing self-doubt, worry, fear, sadness or anxiety, I feel like … Continue reading
HE LEADS ME BY STILL WATERS
Though fears assail and haunt me, my Jesus will be there, He knows my every weakness, He feels my every care, Through valleys dark He leads me, He’s always at my side, To waters still He guides me, refreshment He’ll provide, … Continue reading
BE MY ANCHOR, LORD
I’ve purposefully been avoiding the news, but turn it on occasionally when I need a weather update. I did so yesterday and my avoidance of the ugliness in this world woke me to a striking reminder of the state of … Continue reading
