As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

FRIENDS BY FAITH, NOT SIGHT
I’d driven that same road several times during the week. Funny how you get in the habit of going somewhere and never really stopping to notice the things around you. There was one thing I did manage to see almost … Continue reading
OH TO BE A BEATNIK AGAIN . . .
I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s – when you were either a square, cool, a greaser or a beatnik. I’m sure every generation has their own labels, but to be a beatnik in the 50’s might’ve been akin … Continue reading
MISSING MY DOG
David Kitz had a charming story about his dog, “Champ,” this morning. It brought to mind all the many dogs we’ve had as pets over the years. Four years ago we said goodbye to our twelve year old Llewellin Setter, … Continue reading

WHY DO WE LOVE THE PAST?
What is it about the past that’s so appealing? Looking back at historical events – from ancient times -to times of royalty and the Renaissance – to the foundation of our own country, are times that are compelling to many … Continue reading

WILDERNESS TIME . . .
Some of the most important events in the Bible take place in the desert. Moses led the nation of Israel through a desert wilderness for 40 years. Abraham sent Hagar and her son into the wilderness with hardly enough food … Continue reading
FEBRUARY DISPONDENCY
It seems this little month lacks in number of days, but there are plenty of things to celebrate. There actually are a lot of things going during this tiny month.  It’s been designated National Heart Month, Black History Month, National Weddings Month … Continue reading
NEVER TOO OLD . . .
We are never too old to learn. Our journey on earth is usually a brief number of years, filled with discovery. Think of what it would be like to live for hundreds or thousands of them. Our brains would be … Continue reading

GROWING OLD, FADING FAST
No, this photograph is not me, although I’ve been known to wear a clown nose. I’ve also worn a fake nose and glasses while driving through a McDonald’s Drive-thru. When I found this photo on the internet, I couldn’t help … Continue reading
IT’S JUST A SENIOR MOMENT ….
The majority of my posts this week have dealt with aging. I’ve tried to interject some humor into the whole thing, but there isn’t really anything funny about growing old. Our bodies have passed the expiration date, our senses have … Continue reading
DO YOU FEEL SAFE AT HOME?
Every year, as a senior citizen having a wellness check, you’re asked, “Do you feel safe at home?” I guess I never thought about it until I was asked. Up until then I felt pretty safe no matter where I … Continue reading
OLD HORSES
Aging is my topic for the week and to tell you the truth, the whole thing is getting me depressed. An old adage says, “They shoot old horses, don’t they?” As I searched for an image for this post, all … Continue reading
MY HIDING PLACE

FIRST RESPONSE OR LAST RESORT?
Worry seems to be part of our human nature. It’s interesting to me that animals don’t seem to carry that trait, and what a blessing for them. I mean, they have to find a warm place to sleep when it … Continue reading
TALKING TO GOD
I had a cortisone shot yesterday. I’ve been nursing a bad knee and hip since I was released from the hospital in November 2022. I was only allowed a shot in the knee, because I have to make a separate … Continue reading
PARENTING WITH THE THREE “R”S
I’m an old woman and still remember hearing the philosophy that the three “R”s were all we needed to learn in order to succeed as students. I think the person who came up with that concept needed some education on … Continue reading
