As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

WHAT IS A FAMILY?
“Children are not casual guests in our home. They have been loaned to us temporarily for the purpose of loving them and instilling a foundation of values on which their future lives will be built.” James Dobson Having or being … Continue reading
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Well, it’s that time of year again. Time for parents to add to their credit card debt. Time for purchasing school supplies, backpacks, new clothes and shoes and the latest technology which will ensure your child’s success. All of this … Continue reading
GOD, BLESS THE LITTLE LAMBS
Soon, the mad rush for school supplies, new clothes, electronic devices, dorm supplies, and the thought of packing school lunches will settle down and kids will return to classrooms. Their backpacks will be full, their new duds will match their … Continue reading
MOTHERHOOD REALITY
Mother’s Day has come and gone, but I’m concerned about how much parenting has changed over my lifetime. I’ve seen women go through a time of total submission to complete domination in the course of only some fifty years. They … Continue reading
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
There are so many reasons to thank men for being fathers. Not only are they procreating to populate the world – which requires no special skill – but they’re also given responsibilities anyone would desire on their resume’. They’re problem … Continue reading
THE MAN MY KIDS CALL DAD
The guy in these pictures has been a part of my life for most of it. He was my high school sweetheart and 58 years ago in September, I married him. A lot has transpired during that time including three … Continue reading
TWO SPECIAL DADS
These wo special fathers left this world much too young, but are not forgotten. My dad was raised by a single mother, along with his three siblings. No one ever speaks about his father, except to say that he abandoned … Continue reading
THROW BACK THURSDAY – SONS-IN-LAW
This is a rerun of a post I wrote last year on 06/18/21. I don’t always remember to wish my sons=in-law a Happy Fathers Day, but they deserve my gratitude for so many reasons. We have been blessed with two … Continue reading
DADS WHO FIX THINGS
Dads are usually good at fixing things. We often see them tinkering over a broken down lawn mower or under the hood of a car with a handful of tools. They may not always know what they’re doing, but there … Continue reading
GOD, THE FATHER OF ALL
Jesus made a point of using parables (earthly stories with a heavenly meaning) to illustrate His Father’s plan for us in our own lives. In the story of the Prodigal Son, we hear of a man who had two sons. … Continue reading
FATHER’S WEEK
Father’s Day will be here in a week and I have a lot to say about dads. So I’m beginning with this one. It’s a rerun from several years ago, but I think it applies today, even more than it … Continue reading
LAST MOTHER’S DAY MESSAGE
Last week I posted something every day about mothers. Yesterday was Mother’s Day and I didn’t post a word. I basked in the love of my family, even though we weren’t all together, I know that I was in their … Continue reading
WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A MOTHER
My days of being a mother are long gone, but the memories linger on. Every once in a while, one of those recollections resurfaces and I wonder how I ever made it through the whole motherhood thing. I then tell myself (which … Continue reading
I’M A GREAT GRANDMOTHER
The following post was written five years ago when my granddaughter was just starting high school and they had a program designed to help young women learn about parenting. The program included a robotic doll that responded with crying when … Continue reading
FROM WORRIER TO WARRIOR
I’d consider myself a worrier. It may have something to do with being a fixer as well. In my growing up years, I felt a responsibility for my baby sister. I took it on myself to tell her what to … Continue reading
MOTHER’S DAY THOUGHTS
In a few days, it will be Mother’s Day Not a day goes by that I don’t think of this amazing woman. She helped to define and shape me throughout my life. She gave me confidence to be proud of … Continue reading
WHAT’S IT LIKE BEHIND YOUR FRONT DOOR?
I think we all go through times when we’re living in the middle of a huge mess. Maybe you didn’t have time to do the dishes. There are magazines from twenty years ago stacked in a corner. Your bed is … Continue reading
WHAT IS YOUR REALITY?
With all that’s occurred in the past two years, it’s no wonder that there’s more mental illness, depression and anxiety. The number for young people needing counseling has risen at alarming rates. Those individuals from 15 to 24 years of age, show … Continue reading
OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES
My husband is back in the hospital again. I needed a pick me up so turned to one of my old posts. Sometimes we just need to laugh in spite of our circumstances. God gives us a sense of humor … Continue reading
PARENTING WITH A SMILE
This image may be a bit extreme, but, believe it or not, a pastor who was friends with my father in law, actually wanted to arrange a marriage between Paul and his daughter. I’m eternally grateful that he didn’t carry … Continue reading
