As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

WINTER WONDERLAND
Last night as I went to rehearsal for an upcoming performance of “Willie Wonka,” the temperature was around 53 degrees. A little rain fell during the day so the roads were wet, but it felt almost tropical for Minnesota. During the … Continue reading
MY FIRST BLACK FRIDAY EXPERIENCE
It all began with an early morning text from my granddaughter. You see, it’s a tradition for her dad’s mother to shop on Black Friday with her grandchildren. Bless her loving heart. I’ve managed to stay clear of Black Friday … Continue reading
I LOVE TO WRITE DAY
The thinking cat is a reminder that we writers often suffer writer’s block, so we need a little help from our friends. Today we celebrate ” love to Write Day.” I happen to have a penchant for these weird and unusual … Continue reading
PERSPECTIVE
Halloween, in my neck of the woods, seems to be pretty popular. I live in a small town (one of the first in Minnesota) which claims to be the Halloween Capital of the world. I’m not a fan of ghosts … Continue reading
POWER OF WORDS
r I don’t speak anything other than English, even though I took a couple years of Latin in high school a hundred years ago. I did find those classes helpful in deciphering the meanings of many words in Webster’s Dictionary, … Continue reading
UPSTAIRS BATHROOM
Last year at this time, we were getting desperate. Our old house had sold, we had downsized considerably and were still searching for a house that would suit our aging lifestyle. We had limitations. We wanted a house that was … Continue reading
MULTI-TASKING?
It has come to my attention that I no longer possess the ability to multi-task. Gone are the days when I could sew up to 50 costumes in a week, write a play or two, teach a class, plan meals … Continue reading
TIME FOR ANOTHER GARAGE SALE
I love the cartoon, since my husband has often been referred to as Indiana Jones or Louisana Jones by some. Last year at this time we were holding a garage sale to downsize before moving into a smaller home. The well laid … Continue reading
MEMORIES
I came across this old photo of my sister and I cutting up, just for laughs, at my Aunt Muriel and Uncle Jake’s home in Wisconsin. It brought back so many memories of the fun times we shared, not only … Continue reading
WHERE’S THE PATIENT?
It was one of those down times on the roller coaster of our early married life. My husband was about to embark on a new job in a different state and we had no insurance. I had remained in our old … Continue reading

ST. SWITHIN’S DAY

MY OUTDOORSMAN
My husband has many traits. He is intelligent in many areas of life. He knows how to survive in the wilderness. He should’ve been born two centuries ago, because is filled with the spirit of adventure required to have lived then. He … Continue reading
OPEN HEART SURGERY
Returning down memory lane, my husband had many interesting moments when he was in the advertising business. He did almost everything, from a trip deep into the Wind River Mountains on horseback to flying into a remote lake in Alaska … Continue reading
LIFE IN A FUNERAL HOME
I would love to be able to include a photograph of the house where my husband spent his growing up years. It was a typical house of seven gables – a mansion of sorts – within a decaying neighborhood. During … Continue reading
TALES FROM THE DARK SIDE
If only life were like a box of chocolates, but alas, I’ve been restricted – mostly self-inflicted – to a life of leafy greens, high protein and a lack of sugar. I’m not complaining, it’s just tough for an old … Continue reading
INVASION
Yesterday we experienced some torrential rain – enough so to push several inhabitants out of their homes and into ours. “Consider the ant,” says Proverbs 6:6. In that little passage we read how the sluggard – or the lazy one – … Continue reading
