As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

COME UNTO ME
There are days when I wish I could simply walk into heaven and know that God would be waiting there with open arms. There are other days when I feel there is still so much I should do here … Continue reading
WHAT TIME IS IT.
There’s something about losing an hour that completely throws me off. You’d think I’d be happy for the extra few minutes of sunshine and delighted that it will stay dark until 7 AM, but for me, daily savings time is … Continue reading

RANDOM THOUGHT – NOSTALGIA
ORIGINAL ART BY PAUL T. BOECHER© The ravages of winter have all but covered the once fertile fields of this beautiful, old barn, but life still exists within and without. The memories emanating from my grandparent’s farm continue to remind … Continue reading
RANDOM THOUGHT – FROST
Original art by Paul T. Boecher© Sparkling facets of frost, scraped from windshields to get a clear view of the road, but do we take time to really inspect the beauty of it? The tiny patterns etched into ice by the … Continue reading
RESTORATION
There are some reality shows on TV that deal with restoring old things into their former state. As you walk through a neighborhood of restored Victorian homes, it’s easy to imagine the kind of lives the residents lived. You may have … Continue reading
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE
I often wonder if I’d have the courage to make a complete change in the direction of my life. Am I too old to start a new career? For most people in my age range, the thought of such a … Continue reading
RANDOM THOUGHT – TIME
Have you ever noticed how slowly the sands in an hourglass move at the beginning of their descent? Somewhat like life – things start out full and as time slips away, the sand rushes to its demise. Our later years … Continue reading
RETIREMENT?
Those of us old fogeys in our 70s can laugh at this joke. Some in their 50s and 60s might chuckle a little, but to those in their 30s and 40s, this is no laughing matter. When Social Security was … Continue reading
NOTHING HAPPENS BY CHANCE
As we wind down another year, our natural tendency is to look back at the mistakes we made – the goals we missed – the lost opportunities – the habits we didn’t break. We look forward to a clean slate and … Continue reading
RANDOM THOUGHT
Original art by Paul T. Boecher © Soon this leaf cluttered green turned to the white of winter, bringing the solace of an icy, glimmering peace. We live life fully in the spring and rage through the heat of summer. Each season has its … Continue reading
WINTER
Original Art “SNOW” by Paul T. Boecher© The sun sprinkles a handful of fairy dust upon clinging icicles. Each one hangs on for dear life hoping that tomorrow the thermometer allows them to dwindle a bit, but in reality that … Continue reading
QUIET TIME

PEOPLE NEED PEOPLE

SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN
When you reach middle age, you’re considered in the prime of life. You’ve climbed the ladder of success, reached the pinnacle of career and lifetime relationships. You’ve vaulted the hurdles of education. Things are looking good. When I turned … Continue reading
HOW ABOUT US OLD FOGEYS
Yesterday I talked about how important it is for kids to know their value. The same is true for us old fogeys. Somewhere in middle age we become so busy building a life we forget that. When we’re on the outer … Continue reading
RESPECT FOR THE AGED DAY
I was surprised to discover that this is Respect for the Aged Day. I was not surprised that this special day is celebrated in Japan, where honoring parents and the elderly is still held in high regard. With the dawn … Continue reading

THE OLD HOUSEBOAT
ART WORK BY PAUL BOECHER© The old houseboat still maintained a look of elegance even though paint was chipped and faded – the bough battered slightly from constant pushing against shore, She sat quietly moored under the wispy trees which … Continue reading
