As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

OUR CHRISTMAS ANGEL
45 years ago, I’d reached the end of my third pregnancy. We were in the center of one of Wisconsin’s common snow storms. I knew it wouldn’t be long before this little one would be born. It took some time to wake my husband, … Continue reading

The beautiful woman in the photograph is my mom. She would’ve been 96 this year, but is now celebrating with the angels in heaven. She was my hero – a woman who loved to laugh – one who would do … Continue reading
FUNNY MEMORIES
As I unpacked those treasured ornaments from the past 53 years of marriage, memories began to pour into my head. There were the handmade pieces; the delicate globes decorated with the names of each in our family; the store bought … Continue reading
VALUE OF ALL THINGS LIVING
When our first grandson was a child of three, he had a complete grasp on the value of life. As I stomped on a pesky little ant as it scurried underfoot, he immediately called me out for taking the insect’s life. Of course … Continue reading
HOLIDAY ROAD TRIPS
When our family moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota, I had no idea what a project it would be to make those holiday trips back home. We had a small car packed with a playpen for our toddler; our meager homemade … Continue reading
WONDERLAND?
On this day in history, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, wrote in his diary, “Began writing the fairy-tale of Alice–I hope to finish it by Christmas.” This was on November 13, 1862 and Charles later became known as Lewis Carroll. The story … Continue reading
PRAY FOR OUR CHILDREN
I’ve been a child myself, so I know what it’s like. I’ve raised three of them, with the help of God and my husband. I’ve had the joy of watching my three grandchildren become wonderful young adults and followers of God. … Continue reading
MOTHERHOOD GUILT
The vision of a Jewish mother, holding every form of guilt over her child’s head, has become stereotypical. Since Eve was the first woman, and obviously Jewish, let’s blame her. I feel women are formed with guilty consciences and it … Continue reading
DAYS SO QUICKLY PASS …
For many children across the land, school has resumed. Kids, now tanned by the summer sun will don their back to school clothes and prepare for another school year. My granddaughter will embark on her first year of high school … Continue reading
CLEMSON STRONG
When I visited Greenville, S.C. last November, I was surprised to see the number of cars with tiger tails hanging out of the trunks. The first one I saw was funny, but when more and more of them appeared, I … Continue reading
BACK TO SCHOOL
School supplies covered the shelves for weeks and trendy new fashions beckon to be purchased. Kids need more expensive tools to go to school. When raising our own children, I never really looked forward school shopping, because of the huge chunk it took from our every day … Continue reading
BACKYARD THEATER
I cannot even begin to comment on the above picture. I was born in 1942 and most of my childhood occurred during the 40s and 50s. We didn’t even have a television set until I turned ten. It was … Continue reading
DADDY
Neither of us was prepared for the birth of our first child. I think it takes a long time to fit into the title of parent and usually through years of challenges and exciting adventures. Who would’ve known the woman … Continue reading
HOW TO BE A GOOD PARENT
I’d like to say, that after 75 years of living, I am an example of what a good mother should be. I’d like to say that, but unfortunately I’d be lying. Everything I did as a parent was merely by … Continue reading
SURVIVING CHILDHOOD
My husband, as I mentioned in his story yesterday, lived above a funeral home. In order to create a more ordinary environment for their children, his parents would take them to spend weekends at the family lake home. It was a lovely … Continue reading
WHAT MAKES A GOOD FATHER?
Opinions about fatherhood have changed drastically over the past 30 or 40 years and I would like to address that today. Somehow, maybe as a result of the feminist movement, men have been lowered in value and the role of father has … Continue reading
THOUGHTS ABOUT DAD
My dad taught me how to tie my shoes. He grieved with me when my box turtle fell off the ledge of our fourth floor apartment. He came with me to the five and dime to return a trinket I … Continue reading
