As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

DO NOT REMOVE!!!!!
I’ve decided to use Saturdays to bring a laugh or two to my audience. In these perilous times we certainly could use something to lift our spirits. When I as a young girl, still living under my parent’s roof, I … Continue reading
TRUE CONFESSION – I ATE MY DAUGHTER’S HOMEWORK
Funny things happen to me all the time. Either that or I’m not all there and everything just seems funny. My youngest daughter brought an assignment home to finish for her art class. It was made of paper mâché and … Continue reading
WHAT TIME IS IT?
Well, here we go again. Slaves to the guy who switches out the clocks twice a year. It seems we’ve been hearing about this time change to daylight savings for days now. The hype is exactly that – hype. I’ve … Continue reading
GROUNDHOG DAY ALL OVER AGAIN
Punxsutawney Phil did it again. He saw his shadow and therefore there will be six more weeks of winter. This year has been brutal for most of the nation as far as winter is concerned. Even in Florida temperatures are … Continue reading
HALLOWEEN BLOOD TEST
POETRY BY KATHY BOECHER A few years ago, I was scheduled to have a blood test at my clinic. It was the day before Halloween so I wasn’t too surprised to see the staff dressed in costume, but I had … Continue reading
JEWELS OF DE NIAL MARATHON WEEK
As you know, I’ve spent the entire pandemic in a creative frenzy. My over 55 acting class fizzled out, but something wonderful sprang forth from it. The three women in the front row of these two photos (R to L,) … Continue reading
I DON’T NEED INFLATION
During most of my 79 years, I have been fighting inflation. I dont need it anymore, nor do I want it. Begone with thee, inflation!. I’ve seen my body mass go up and down more than the economy and in … Continue reading
MAKING ADJUSTMENTS
As we age, we need to constantly make adjustments to the way we used to do things. For example: the stairs in the house. Our last house had a second level, which required climbing stairs up and down. We were … Continue reading
SNAKES IN THE BASEMENT
My husband grew up in a home that also housed the family business – a funeral home. There were the usual jokes throughout his childhood about people dying to get in there. There were an abundance of stories that would … Continue reading
POST 9/11
The mermaid in the photos was sculpted during the year 2001 by my husband Paul Boecher. It is mounted on a bar at the Newsroom Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. The bar is shaped like an old pirate ship and the … Continue reading
FUNNY MONDAY
I’m a big fan of Maxine. She tells it like it is and I often do too. I’m much more courageous when I don’t have to confront anyone face to face. The written word is my battleground and I spurt … Continue reading
CLOSED CAPTIONING MISHAPS
I started using the closed captioning feature on our TV set because of my hearing loss. Since my husband doesn’t suffer from the same malady, it seems the perfect solution. Reading the captions can take something away from the performance, … Continue reading
Summer Memories
We’re two thirds of the way through summer and this time of year always brings memories of family travels. At the start of these adventures our kids were still quite young, so everything was exciting – like looking at the … Continue reading
MAKING A LIST AND CHECKING IT TWICE
Since another school year is about to begin, I thought it might be a good idea to get organized. First I’ll write a “to do list.” I used to be really good at that until the “to do list” became … Continue reading
THERE’S NOTHING BUT GOOD NEWS
Some of you may know that I have absented myself from the news world for about three months now. The idea of ignorance being blissful is really quite true, and even though there are those who believe it’s important to … Continue reading
INSPIRED BY ONETA
The first post I read this morning was from our dear friend Oneta. She brilliantly told the story of her hilarious events while she was hospitalized a while back. So glad you recovered from the experience, my friend. Everyone should … Continue reading
TODAY IS HAMMOCK DAY – WHO KNEW?
Those dog days of summer, when the heat will not allow you to do anything physical except get into a hammock and sleep the day away. That is of course unless you’re a human – a woman with few motor … Continue reading
