As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

SURVIVING CHILDHOOD
My husband, as I mentioned in his story yesterday, lived above a funeral home. In order to create a more ordinary environment for their children, his parents would take them to spend weekends at the family lake home. It was a lovely … Continue reading

WHAT MAKES A GOOD FATHER?
Opinions about fatherhood have changed drastically over the past 30 or 40 years and I would like to address that today. Somehow, maybe as a result of the feminist movement, men have been lowered in value and the role of father has … Continue reading
THOUGHTS ABOUT DAD
My dad taught me how to tie my shoes. He grieved with me when my box turtle fell off the ledge of our fourth floor apartment. He came with me to the five and dime to return a trinket I … Continue reading
PLANNING FOR CHILDREN
Generally we have children because it’s a way of sharing our love for each other and through that love, we’re giving love to these new little people who are inhabiting our lives. What they don’t tell you, when you become … Continue reading
TEN STEPS TO BEING A GOOD DAD
There are many experts on fatherhood and the best ways to approach the job, but it seems to me that God gives us all the answers we need in His Word. Parenting is mentioned countless times in this book and the … Continue reading

WONDROUS WOMAN
Today being a woman (especially a mom) requires great courage. Generations from the sixties and on have been hammered with thoughts that they must be strong role models for their children, work hard in the workplace and at home, bring home … Continue reading
REPURPOSED TREASURE

BEAUTY WITHIN
The old saying, “Beauty is only skin deep.” always confused me as a teenager, especially when so much emphasis was placed on physical appearance. Young girls compare themselves by what they wear, how they fix their hair, what their teeth … Continue reading

We’ve been spending the last two days with my wonderful sister and her husband. They’re both 5 years younger than us and their youthful spirit is much like the first couple in the above cartoon. I am represented by the … Continue reading
ROAD WARRIORS
We arrived safely in Nashville, TN last evening after two days of pretty intensive driving. I guess we now qualify as road warriors. Each day seemed to be filled with clouds, which made it easier to travel, but those clouds … Continue reading
