As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

ONE NATION UNDER GOD . . .
I realize the fourth of July doesn’t come around until next Tuesday, but this is holiday that holds the key to the foundation of our country. In just over two hundred years, we might not recognize the America of 1776. … Continue reading
JUNETEENTH
Way back in 1865, America was reeling from the effects of the Civil War. Texas, however, had no part in the conflict. In fact, many slaves moved to the Lone Star State to flee the battle. When the Emancipation Proclamation … Continue reading
MY GRANDPA WAS A LINEMAN . . .
The above photo was taken from the internet and doesn’t include my grandfather, but it is typical of what a lineman did in the early 1900s. When Erving William Forsterling was born on 23 June 1894, in Howards Grove, Sheboygan, … Continue reading
WAIT – WHAT ARE WE REMEMBERING?
What does Memorial Day mean to you? For most folks, it indicates the beginning of summer. It may be a family holiday – a trip to the lake – waterskiing and picnics. It could mean a chance to get away … Continue reading
ARE YOU A SAINT OR SINNER? YES!
There seems to be an interest in getting a bird’s eye view of other people making foolish mistakes or trying to be something they can’t possibly be. We see it in the weekly reality shows on television – movies- in … Continue reading
PRESIDENTS DAY FUNNIES
HEY, WHAT’S THAT IN THE SKY?
With the sighting of several “weather” balloons in the sky recently, I couldn’t help but wonder why we go into panic mode when anything unusual happens. Instead of making light of it, we tend to turn our attention to the … Continue reading
FOR GOD SO LOVES YOU . . .
I love you with all my heart! I’d do anything for you! You are the most important person in my life! These are phrases that will be written or said today as we honor those we love. Shouldn’t every day … Continue reading
POLITICS AS USUAL
No need to elaborate on Mark Twain’s quote, but we have just witnessed another State of the Union Address. President Biden appeared the most presidential we have seen for some time. The Peanut Gallery of Congressmen and women didn’t fail … Continue reading
A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY
I’m certain my parents never forgot the day when the news came over the radio that Pearl Harbor had been bombed by the Japanese. I am also convinced that the memory of 9/11 will live vividly in my mind until I … Continue reading
DYING WITH THEIR BOOTS ON
I love the movie, “Second Hand Lions,” with Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Haley Joel Osment. It’s about two old codgers who won’t give up on life, even though they’re reaching that point in their existence. They use their own … Continue reading
BE MY ANCHOR, LORD
I’ve purposefully been avoiding the news, but turn it on occasionally when I need a weather update. I did so yesterday and my avoidance of the ugliness in this world woke me to a striking reminder of the state of … Continue reading
WHAT IS FREEDOM?

LET FACTS BE SUBMITTED TO A CANDID WORLD
Today is one of celebration for our country, as we honor our independence from tyrannical rule on July 4, 1776. Flags will be raised, parades held, firework displays will explode to re-announce our freedom. Do we know what it’s all … Continue reading
PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION . . .
When the United States declared its independence over 200 years ago, the words were carefully thought out and determined by men of character, high moral conduct and intelligence. The words which have stood the test of time, begin with the … Continue reading
SATURDAY SOAKER
There’s something about Memorial Day weekend that seems to conjure memories of camping trips interrupted by rain. It seems to never fail. There is almost always a certain amount of rain during this holiday. Maybe it’s the tears of God … Continue reading
WHAT WAS FUNNY – AIN’T
My life has spanned almost seven decades. I’ll soon be entering my eight. I’ve seen the comedy routines of Vaudeville – the situation comedies that required an active imagination through the radio – early TV and movies containing slapstick and … Continue reading
WEDNESDAY WISDOM
I guess you could say I was a child that grew up on “screen time.” My screen was an 8″ black and white TV, upon which I spent Saturday mornings wallowing in Looney Toons cartoons. I would then spend the … Continue reading
