As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

RULES OR GUIDELINES?
There are rules everywhere we go in life. As children we learn that we must say please and thank you. We must wash our hands before eating. When we go to school and learn the rules of the classroom. You … Continue reading
LETTING GO
A couple years ago, a new Disney movie came out called “Frozen.” I haven’t yet seen it, but I’ve heard the one most popular song from the story. These words from “Let it Go” talk about giving up past things and … Continue reading
BE LIGHT IN A WORLD OF DARKNESS
Edith Wharton was a writer from the late 18th to the early 19h Century who came from a life of privilege. One of her contemporaries was Theodore Roosevelt. The fact that she came from a wealthy family and lacked for nothing … Continue reading
Living Water
Yesterday the clouds were heavy with rain – the air grew oppressive under the weight of high dew point levels. Within minutes the ominous clouds emptied in sheets of torrential rain upon the earth. Within seconds the air lightened. The … Continue reading
CONSIDER THE ANT
We are currently being invaded by these little creatures. It seems that we have this problem every summer, especially when there’s an abundance of moisture – and we certainly have received more than a little rain this year. It did get me … Continue reading
TROUBLE!
Some folks think that becoming a Christian means gaining complete freedom from all our troubles. Not true! In fact, God never promised any of us a rose garden. Well, He gave us a perfect garden, but that was quickly lost … Continue reading
GIVE ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR . . .
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name … Continue reading
IS IT EVER GOOD TO BE IDLE?
Summertime is the perfect time for us to slow down. The living is easy – as is said in the song – or is it? Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the busyness of life that we forget … Continue reading
I’M SO TIRED!
There are times when our bodies just wear out. We get tired – physically as well as emotionally. The older I get, the more I realize that this weak, old carcass can’t do what it did twenty years ago. It’s … Continue reading
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US!
I came across this passage today and it made me think of how this life is so uncertain. We can share relationships and friendships – hardships and loss – joys and successes, but all those things are really only temporary. Someday … Continue reading
YIKES!
If we were to focus too much on the events in the news, it wouldn’t take long for us to need treatment for depression. Our world is in a terrible state. Our own country is in moral decline; the world is constantly … Continue reading
TO ALL DADS! HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
There aren’t enough words to thank God for the gift of fathers. They have been established and fashioned by Him. God is the perfect example of what a father should be, but we often fall short of His expectations. Still He gives dads strength and wisdom … Continue reading
FUNNY FATHER’S DAY STUFF
I grew up in the years when Bill Cosby was launching his career into show business. I remember listening to his monologues on the stereo and laughing at all his quips about family and parenting. He had some amazing insights into what … Continue reading
No Sense in Violence
A life snuffed out in an act of senseless violence, Another tear is shed, there is no recompense, What makes a mind go so crazy, that all that’s real grows hazy? There seems to be a blindness to all the twisted minds … Continue reading
Webster describes trust as assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of someone or something. In the acting classes I teach to children, we do an exercise to see exactly what that means. I have the children pair up and … Continue reading
WHAT A PERFECT FRIEND
There is nothing like a good friend to brighten your day. They can encourage you when you’ve failed, support you when you’re down, love you despite your imperfections and be willing to do anything for you. To be a good … Continue reading
I’M NOT PERFECT!
Sometimes I think I’m really losing it. For example, I will leave the room to get something only to completely forget what it was when I get there. Or I will hear something someone tells me and in a flash … Continue reading
I’LL PRAY FOR YOU!
When people ask me how I am, I usually don’t want to go into detail. I have a friend who when asked, “How are you?” always replies, “How long do you have?” As part of the body of Christ, however, … Continue reading
My prayer for your coming week.
Life can be but a mere whisper or it can be a consuming fire. The way we approach it will define who we are and where we’re going. If we go through life without any focus, If we don’t set … Continue reading
I DIDN’T MEAN TO SAY …
Someone once said, “Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time. You won’t have a leg to stand on.” There have been times when I’ve said something without thinking about the consequences of those words and how … Continue reading
