As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

AGING DOESN’T HAVE TO MEAN DEATH
Lots of people look at age as a sign of weakness, deterioration and imminent death. Some cultures place age in a special category because of the wisdom a person has acquired in his life. In America, we tend to admire … Continue reading
NOBODY WANTS OUR STUFF
About four years ago, we moved into a house that’s half the size of our old one. It required a lot of throwing away, giving away and garage selling to cut us down to size. Unfortunately, it hasn’t taken us … Continue reading
AGING FOR THOSE WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR
I’m currently in the process of brainstorming, which could be dangerous for a 78 year old woman. The storming of my brain is nothing new, but the subject matter has changed over time. I used to write about funny parenting … Continue reading
THE AMAZING INVISIBLE WOMAN
For age is opportunity no less Than youth itself, though in another dress, And as the evening twilight fades away The sky is filled with stars, invisible by day. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow When I was a kid, I thought it … Continue reading
LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP
I love technology. I hate technology. I can’t live without it. I want to live without it. It’s a conundrum of magnificent proportions to those of us who grew up with 10″ television screens and 45 rpm records. However, I’m … Continue reading
TWO MORE WEEKS
Early on in this “stay at home” policy, I noted that it seemed we were being required to do this in two week increments. I’m not sure if that deadline is meant to encourage us to be optimistic that this … Continue reading
WHAT’S A VULNERABLE ADULT?
“Memory in youth is active and easily impressible; in old age it is comparatively callous to new impressions, but still retains vividly those of earlier years.” … Continue reading
BACK IN THE FRAY
Once more into the fray… Into the last good fight I’ll ever know… Live and die on this day… Live and die on this day… The phrase, “Into the fray,” has meant to me – getting back into the game … Continue reading
RETIRED TIRED
I’m beyond the age of retirement. I tried it once, but the lure of theatre drew me out of it. I am one of those elderly women who drives a car from 2002, with a little over 100,000 miles on … Continue reading
THE “JOYS” OF AGING
As another year and decade passes, each one of us is getting older. There is no escape from this malady, except for death and for many that’s the end of everything. I hope I never lose my zest for living, … Continue reading
KEEP ON KEEPING ON
“I’m not confused, I’m just well mixed.” Robert Frost As I go through this “wonderful” stage of my life, there are times when I feel like I’m losing it. One of my greatest fears is that I will do just … Continue reading
DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW
Every time we get a snowfall here in Lake Woebegone, we realize two things – why we do we live here and why don’t we move to a warmer climate? The snow blankets all the debris from the last storm, … Continue reading
YOU’RE OLD, GET OVER IT!
The idea of growing old never occurred to me until I became part of the silver haired generation. It still doesn’t hold much interest. In fact I’m trying to avoid it completely. Age isn’t particularly where anyone in our society … Continue reading
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
OK, so I have two kidney stones. I’m not sure why these nuggets keep forming within me. I may be able to use them somewhere in my garden, but unfortunately these are the kind that need to be blasted, so … Continue reading
ACTING FOR SENIORS
I don’t know these women, but it sure looks like they’re having a good time. I will begin a new adventure today. I’m going to be teaching a group of 55+ some dramatic skills. These theatre games, scene work, improv, … Continue reading
THANK GOD FOR GOOD NEWS!
In this year before the next presidential election, we’ve been bombarded with all kinds of yucky news. I for one am sick of it and have decided to disconnect when it’s time for the news shows. It has become nothing … Continue reading
EERY MORNING RANDOM THOUGHTS
This image reflects what I’m seeing from my window this morning. It’s already 8 AM and a thick haze of fog envelopes my view. The wind is slightly tickling the branches on the trees so you might think it was … Continue reading
HAPPY GRANDPARENT’S DAY
I don’t know why this day always seems to sneak up on us. I’m not sure when it originated, but I know it wasn’t around when I was a kid. I think it’s a good idea to honor our golden … Continue reading
DAYLIGHT IS A BURNIN’
One of the points of taking a vacation is to forget about all the things you should be doing. You should set your brain at idle and focus on nothing. You’re expected to fritter away the hours and consort with the … Continue reading
