As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

WHERE’S THE PATIENT?
It was one of those down times on the roller coaster of our early married life. My husband was about to embark on a new job in a different state and we had no insurance. I had remained in our old … Continue reading
COWBOY PAUL
This guy wears many hats, as I’ve already written. One of his favorites is anything bearing the Stetson name and he really looks good in it. To me, the cowboy in Paul, is the most attractive. As a boy, he … Continue reading
ADVERTISING MAN
A while back, a television series about the advertising business hit the screen. I watched one episode of this and that was enough. Unfortunately it brought up some seriously bad memories. The three hour martini lunch was played up, but … Continue reading
MY OUTDOORSMAN
My husband has many traits. He is intelligent in many areas of life. He knows how to survive in the wilderness. He should’ve been born two centuries ago, because is filled with the spirit of adventure required to have lived then. He … Continue reading
SURVIVING CHILDHOOD
My husband, as I mentioned in his story yesterday, lived above a funeral home. In order to create a more ordinary environment for their children, his parents would take them to spend weekends at the family lake home. It was a lovely … Continue reading
LIFE IN A FUNERAL HOME
I would love to be able to include a photograph of the house where my husband spent his growing up years. It was a typical house of seven gables – a mansion of sorts – within a decaying neighborhood. During … Continue reading
I LOVE A PARADE!
Just a few days ago, we celebrated the birth of our nation in our new home town of Anoka, Minnesota. When we moved here last fall, we also moved to a new church so that we could attend services with … Continue reading
TODAY YOU ARE TWENTY TWO
Where did the years go? It seems only yesterday that you and I were playing drums with the pots and pans and you were chasing the dog around the table. You – the first of my grandchildren – the brainy … Continue reading
SNAP CHAT PIGGIES
For the last couple days, I’ve been spending some real quality time with my 14 year old granddaughter. She and her family will be gone on vacation for a while and it was her idea that we hang together this … Continue reading
TRANSITIONS
I’ve come to the conclusion that part of God’s wrath came down specifically on women in the form of hormonal imbalance. There are some changes as men age, but women get the brunt of it. In the teen years, our … Continue reading
WHAT MAKES A GOOD FATHER?
Opinions about fatherhood have changed drastically over the past 30 or 40 years and I would like to address that today. Somehow, maybe as a result of the feminist movement, men have been lowered in value and the role of father has … Continue reading
THOUGHTS ABOUT DAD
My dad taught me how to tie my shoes. He grieved with me when my box turtle fell off the ledge of our fourth floor apartment. He came with me to the five and dime to return a trinket I … Continue reading
PLANNING FOR CHILDREN
Generally we have children because it’s a way of sharing our love for each other and through that love, we’re giving love to these new little people who are inhabiting our lives. What they don’t tell you, when you become … Continue reading
LAUGHTER AROUND THE TABLE
When my sister comes to town, it’s a special time. This is our second visit in less than a month and I’m relishing every second of it. Yesterday was spent with our son and his lady, and youngest daughter and … Continue reading
REUNITED
We’ve been spending the last two days with my wonderful sister and her husband. They’re both 5 years younger than us and their youthful spirit is much like the first couple in the above cartoon. I am represented by the … Continue reading
AM I A SECOND GUESSER?
Yesterday Brandon Adams at https://brandonjadams.com, wrote a great post about mothers that prompted me to respond. My motherhood journey was much like the one he spoke about in “To The Mother Who Second Guesses Herself.” It seems from the day … Continue reading
PROM TIME
(This is my grandson, Josh, who will be graduating from high school next month.) Scrolling through Facebook, you can’t help but notice that it’s spring and young men’s fancies turn to thoughts of . . . well, uh, er, you … Continue reading
THINGS WE TELL OUR CHILDREN
Do you ever stop to think about things that were said to you when you were a kid? The words we say can really impact them in one way or another, or at least conjure up ideas that go … Continue reading
