As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

IS OUR FREEDOM WASHING AWAY?
The picture I’ve chosen today shows just how fragile our freedom is – how it can be washed away in the sweep of a wave or the winds of time. This past weekend we celebrated the birthday of one of the … Continue reading
TROUBLE!
Some folks think that becoming a Christian means gaining complete freedom from all our troubles. Not true! In fact, God never promised any of us a rose garden. Well, He gave us a perfect garden, but that was quickly lost … Continue reading
Gardening 101
Yesterday, my husband and I dug into some tough physical work. It was apparent that we had neglected some important tasks in our yard far too long. The weeds were overtaking my hill garden and that is a monumental task in itself. … Continue reading
GIVE ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR . . .
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name … Continue reading
Incomprehensible Love
I’ll never grow to comprehend the power of your love. You hold me fast. You treasure me. You guide me from above. There is no other love like yours. You fill my every need. You comfort and protect me. For … Continue reading
IS IT EVER GOOD TO BE IDLE?
Summertime is the perfect time for us to slow down. The living is easy – as is said in the song – or is it? Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the busyness of life that we forget … Continue reading
PEACEFUL SLEEP
There is nothing like a good night’s sleep. When our labor is physical, it’s a necessity. When our mind is overworked, we need rest too. When we are struggling with a spiritual problem, God invites us to rest in Him – to actually lay … Continue reading
THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
His hand reached for the oil lamp in the darkness of night. He was enveloped in the deepest darkness he had ever experienced. He strained to see even a tiny glimpse of light – just a faint whisper – Nothing. … Continue reading
THE BOOK THAT KEEPS ON GIVING
There recently was a very powerful You-Tube video gone viral, depicting a group of Chinese people receiving a gift of several cases of Bibles. The looks on their faces and the way they held and even kissed this amazing book, spoke volumes on … Continue reading
The Sentries in our Back Yard.
Two ancient maple trees stand as sentinels on either side of our back yard. During winter their skeletal branches reach up to heaven. They look as though they’re entreating the God of creation to cover their nakedness with a blanket of protection … Continue reading
I’M SO TIRED!
There are times when our bodies just wear out. We get tired – physically as well as emotionally. The older I get, the more I realize that this weak, old carcass can’t do what it did twenty years ago. It’s … Continue reading
Rejoice in your gifts!
Every time my little group of young, aspiring actors complete a show, it makes my heart swell with pride. Not only because of their hard work and accomplishment, but the fact that they have discovered something within themselves that they … Continue reading
NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US!
I came across this passage today and it made me think of how this life is so uncertain. We can share relationships and friendships – hardships and loss – joys and successes, but all those things are really only temporary. Someday … Continue reading
YIKES!
If we were to focus too much on the events in the news, it wouldn’t take long for us to need treatment for depression. Our world is in a terrible state. Our own country is in moral decline; the world is constantly … Continue reading
TO ALL DADS! HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
There aren’t enough words to thank God for the gift of fathers. They have been established and fashioned by Him. God is the perfect example of what a father should be, but we often fall short of His expectations. Still He gives dads strength and wisdom … Continue reading
FUNNY FATHER’S DAY STUFF
I grew up in the years when Bill Cosby was launching his career into show business. I remember listening to his monologues on the stereo and laughing at all his quips about family and parenting. He had some amazing insights into what … Continue reading
No Sense in Violence
A life snuffed out in an act of senseless violence, Another tear is shed, there is no recompense, What makes a mind go so crazy, that all that’s real grows hazy? There seems to be a blindness to all the twisted minds … Continue reading
Webster describes trust as assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of someone or something. In the acting classes I teach to children, we do an exercise to see exactly what that means. I have the children pair up and … Continue reading
WHAT A PERFECT FRIEND
There is nothing like a good friend to brighten your day. They can encourage you when you’ve failed, support you when you’re down, love you despite your imperfections and be willing to do anything for you. To be a good … Continue reading
I’M NOT PERFECT!
Sometimes I think I’m really losing it. For example, I will leave the room to get something only to completely forget what it was when I get there. Or I will hear something someone tells me and in a flash … Continue reading
