As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

DIRTY WINDOWS
We have some major construction going on just a short distance from our home. A major highway, which is within earshot of our backyard is being remade to accommodate for the increase in traffic. The construction is on its second … Continue reading

There are days, when we really have to look hard for things that make us feel good about ourselves, our lives, our futures or our past. Those are the hardest days to get through, because we often find ourselves dwelling on … Continue reading
THROW BACK THURSDAY
Almost six years ago, we were in the throes of looking for a new house. Time was running out and we felt like we’d never find our next dwelling place. Memories of another time, when our world caved in. It … Continue reading
WELLNESS CHECK
I am at the age where a “wellness check” is filed with questions like, “do you feel safe at home?” or “look at these three words and I’ll ask you to remember them at the end of the exam.” I … Continue reading

I guess it’s OK to have a bad day, but I hate it when I’m the one having it. I know that things will be better tomorrow, but while I’m experiencing self-doubt, worry, fear, sadness or anxiety, I feel like … Continue reading
DYING WITH THEIR BOOTS ON
I love the movie, “Second Hand Lions,” with Michael Caine, Robert Duvall and Haley Joel Osment. It’s about two old codgers who won’t give up on life, even though they’re reaching that point in their existence. They use their own … Continue reading
DON’T LET DOUBT GET IN THE WAY
Some days I wake up wondering if my prayers will ever be answered. I have doubts and fears about my future and what God has planned for me. I think that He doesn’t hear me when I pray and that … Continue reading
BE MY ANCHOR, LORD
I’ve purposefully been avoiding the news, but turn it on occasionally when I need a weather update. I did so yesterday and my avoidance of the ugliness in this world woke me to a striking reminder of the state of … Continue reading
I WANT MORE . . .
All he wanted was a little more. The orphan, Oliver Twist, had been sentenced to an orphanage at a young age. To ask for seconds was a big “‘no, no!” He was lucky to get what he got. At least … Continue reading

FRACTURED FRIDAY -BRIDGING THE GAP
I believe that God has plans for each one of ius. How do we bridge the gap between aging and youth? Maybe it starts by listening to each other – sharing life moments – reaching out rather than judging. In … Continue reading
WEDNESDAY WISDOM – FAMILY TREE
We had a visit from our flower girl of almost 58 years ago, recently. She’s in the process of researching her family tree, which includes my husband. I’ve always thought it would be interesting to study my family tree and … Continue reading
ARE THESE THE GOOD OLD DAYS?
Our country’s short history has seen some amazing accomplishments. When you think about how quickly technology has advanced in just the past 30 years, it’s astounding. Most kids don’t even know what a cassette player is, or the mention of … Continue reading
ANOTHER DAY OLDER AND STILL KICKING
When I wrote my memoir several years ago, I was in my 60s and thoughts of retirement were not yet in the picture. They still aren’t. I have survived eight decades and am eagerly moving into the next one. Yesterday … Continue reading
FRACTURED FRIDAY – MARRIAGE
We ‘ve known each other now for 57 years – more than a life time – a gift from God. When you pledge your life to another it should be taken seriously, but there needs to be tons of laughter … Continue reading
THROW BACK THURSDAY – CONTRITION
The word contrition comes from the Latin word, meaning to crush. What a vivid description of how we should come to the Lord with our burdens. We should be crushed by the weight. Even the smallest of our wrongdoings are … Continue reading

I live in a part of the country known for its extreme weather changes. Only a month ago, we were experiencing temps in the 50s and 60s. When you’re a menopausal woman – or just an old woman for that matter … Continue reading

FRACTURED FRIDAY – DIETING
I like the idea of the Swiss Cheese Diet. If nothing else, everything you eat, would fall right out. I’ve spent most of my life on a diet. I didn’t start out fat. I weighed in at 7 pounds 80 years ago. … Continue reading
