Some days I wake up wondering if my prayers will ever be answered. I have doubts and fears about my future and what God has planned for me. I think that He doesn’t hear me when I pray and that my prayers are too insignificant for Him. He has trillions of prayers to answer every second. Why would He listen to me?
Doubt is a terrible thing, because it creeps into your every waking moment and infects your heart more than any known disease man has ever known. The devil would like us to believe that God doesn’t exist and that we are in charge of our own destiny. He loves it when one of God’s children loses faith and starts to rely on himself. We must be on guard every moment. When those days of doubt come, I pray that the Holy Spirit will give me peace in the knowledge that God is listening, and He will answer my prayers in His way and on his timeline. Even though I may not realize it, He has already answered them before I open my mouth to pray.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones. Proverbs 3:5-8
Thank you for such an honest post. Doubt and fear are some of the hardest life hurdles we have. But that is why we have faith and love.
