As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

TUPPERWARE LADY
I was a Tupperware lady. In fact I became a manager of my own unit of salespeople, which gave me use of a company car. I became one of these “party” girls early in our marriage. Our children still needed … Continue reading
WHAT TO DO WHEN IT’S HOT
Picture this. It’s almost ninety degrees in the shade. We come prepared with our cowboy hats, boots and water, but the float hasn’t arrived. We huddle under a tree. Soon the rest of the group arrives and joins us under … Continue reading
SOME DAYS ARE MADE FOR PAINTING
ART & INSPIRATION BY KATHY BOECHER© Last week I posted about taking advantage of the good days. I planned on a rerun the next day, but having overdone it the day before, led to less strenuous activity. I love my garden … Continue reading
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE GOOD DAYS
We don’t get too many perfect days where I live. When you suffer from breathing issues, allergies and old age, you relish it when a day comes along that’s just the right temperature, with low dew points and not much pollen … Continue reading
INSTANT SUMMER
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER© When we left for our trip to So. Carolina at the end of April, our ground was still covered with the remnants of a winter blizzard that pounded us a week before. … Continue reading
MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO
After writing my blog this morning, I thought more about how our children model themselves after us. They learn by watching our behavior. The retain the words we use, the actions we take and some of those not so nice … Continue reading
TODAY IS MAY 31ST
With the end of May, comes the end of school; a short reprieve for teachers and students; time for parents to find things to occupy their kids for the next three months; the beginning of summer fun. Most teachers will … Continue reading
ERMA LOUISE FISTE
This is my first tribute to a woman for this month. Lots of famous women were born during February, but this one holds a special place in my heart. Born on this day in 1921 in Bellbrook, Ohio, to a … Continue reading
THE DAY AFTER …
Minneapolis survived one of the most celebratory events ever to occur on its streets this past weekend and even the ten days leading up to it. I am not a great fan of contests which pit brawn against brute force, … Continue reading
HAPPY WOODCHUCK DAY & SUPER BOWL WEEKEND!
In my neck of the woods, we call a ground hog a woodchuck. I wonder how much wood could a woodchuck – especially if he lives in Minnesota? Quite a bit, I imagine, especially if he wants to keep the … Continue reading
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE
RERUN FROM JANUARY 28, 2016 I often wonder if I’d have the courage to make a complete change in the direction of my life. Am I too old to start a new career? For most people in my age range, … Continue reading
A TALE OF TWO CITIES
Yesterday was the beginning of a ten day celebration of Super Bowl LII (or 52 if you aren’t a throwback to ancient Rome.) Yet even today, in “civilized” society, we have taken to celebrating just about everything. Minneapolis is the site of … Continue reading
OPPOSITE DAY
I love checking out the weird and wacky holidays listed on the internet. It seems I can always find a story in this useless information. I know, I have to find something else to occupy my time, right? Anyway, today … Continue reading
WE’RE HAVING A HEAT WAVE
We’re expected to have a temperature of 40 degrees above zero today. When you consider we were suffering through minus 40 degrees with the wind chill last week, that’s an eighty degree difference. It’s time to get out the flip … Continue reading
NATIONAL FRUITCAKE TOSS DAY
This is a repost from 1/3/15 and actually National Fruitcake Toss Day is the first Saturday of January, so it isn’t really the right day, but funny enough to bear repeating. That poor old fruitcake has been sitting in a box … Continue reading
MY YEAR IN REVIEW
As I look back at the year 2017, I do so with wild anticipation for a new one. Actually the past year was filled with far more blessings than problems, yet the fact of growing older has no genuine amount … Continue reading
OUR CHRISTMAS ANGEL
45 years ago, I’d reached the end of my third pregnancy. We were in the center of one of Wisconsin’s common snow storms. I knew it wouldn’t be long before this little one would be born. It took some time to wake my husband, … Continue reading

FUNNY MEMORIES
As I unpacked those treasured ornaments from the past 53 years of marriage, memories began to pour into my head. There were the handmade pieces; the delicate globes decorated with the names of each in our family; the store bought … Continue reading
