As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

THE DIFFICULT TIMES IN WHICH WE’RE LIVING – ad nauseam
This is how a typical news report goes these days. It’s also filtrating into commercials and public service announcements. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m getting sick of all the “feel good” stuff floating around in … Continue reading
ONCE UPON A TIME . . .
There once was a woman who loved to create beautiful things from the earth. Each year she’d long for the winter cold to vanish so she could lay seeds in the ground and watch them grow. She loved to pull … Continue reading
TWO MORE WEEKS
Early on in this “stay at home” policy, I noted that it seemed we were being required to do this in two week increments. I’m not sure if that deadline is meant to encourage us to be optimistic that this … Continue reading
WHEN YOU JUST WANT TO SCREAM
I’ve been able to avoid using my sewing machine for almost four years. Now that there’s a need for face masks, I got on the mask making bandwagon. Those diy YouTube videos make it look so easy. I thought it … Continue reading
QUESTIONING AND CONSPIRACY THEORIES
How long has this been going on? I feel like it’s been years, but the first case of reported COVID19 occurred sometime in January. Immediately the pandemic turned into panic. Since that time, states have been going into lockdown and … Continue reading
SATURDAY SOUND OFF
Saturday seems as good a day as any to rant. I try not to do so, but it’s trending today, so I thought I’d get on the bandwagon. What stage of grief are we in now? What’s happening in our … Continue reading
ONCE UPON A TIME … THE FACE OF GOD
Never before in the history of time had the sky been so clear. Only an occasional cloud hung there as a reminder. Rain came when the soil dried – only when necessary. It was so clear, some thought they could … Continue reading
DID YOU MISS ME?
Yesterday was my day to go grocery shopping. I like to go early because there aren’t too many people – just us elderly folks – who they think get up at 5 AM. What do they know and who are … Continue reading
GIVING UP OR GIVING IN?
Days grow into weeks and weeks into months. Some of those days are filled with optimism while others bring nothing but one bad thing after another. The amount of time and energy we spend on those bad days is really … Continue reading
THE MAGIC OF THE THEATRICAL
It seems a lifetime ago when the movie theatres were still open – when you could take in a movie for $5 on a Tuesday – when you could escape to another place, time or fill a couple hours with … Continue reading
SUNDAY PRAYER
Dear, Risen Savior, Brother and Friend, Jesus, I come to you this Sunday after Easter with a heavy heart. I like many others in this world have grown impatient. I find myself becoming angry that I can’t be with my … Continue reading
TGIF
The confusion of what day it happens to be can be a source of wonder for those in quarantIne. I know it’s Friday, because we have no obligations on Friday. I know it’s Friday because yesterday was Thursday and tomorrow … Continue reading
STAGES OF GRIEF
This time of grieving is like none we’ve ever known – unless you were born during the time of the Spanish Flu Epidemic of 1918. During that time a world pandemic took the lives of 675,000 Americans and an estimated … Continue reading
ONCE UPON A TIME – EMPTY STREETS
What might happen . . . . Streets normally filled with hustle and bustle were suffocated in a cloud of fog. The air was infused with an eerie silence. There were no vehicles to speak of except for a few … Continue reading
SURVIVOR
I am not a fan of the reality series, “Survivor.” To me a real survivor isn’t self-serving, pompous, physically fit or one who is only in it to win. However this show has grown in popularity and “survived” for the … Continue reading
EASTER LETDOWN
Easter has come and gone and it was the most unusual celebration I’ve experienced in my lifetime. The two of us viewed our church service online. We stayed inside all day, because five or so inches of snow had fallen … Continue reading
AN EASTER LIKE NONE OTHER
I grew up in a time when Easter and Christmas were celebrated with days off of school, Easter bonnets, pretty new clothes, Easter egg hunts, lots of special food and going to church at 6 in the morning. Some of … Continue reading
HOW MANY FEET HAVE YOU WASHED?
Bath time for little ones is a time of great enjoyment, because it means undivided attention from a parent who needs to be on hand to make sure the child is safe. It works that way when an elderly parent … Continue reading
THE EMPTY CHURCH
Three generations of our family eight years ago. Taken at the front of our church in Minneapolis. The thought of not celebrating Easter in church is almost impossible for me to imagine, but this year will be a first for … Continue reading
SPRING IS BUSTING OUT ALL OVER
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER A few years ago, Paul and a few other men observed the nest of a pair of osprey. The birds busied themselves with refreshing the nest before the eggs were laid, oblivious … Continue reading
