As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

I’M SO EXCITED!
June has always been a special month for me. I was born in June, so I’ll be turning 79 this year. My second grandson was also born in June and will graduate from college this year. In a little more … Continue reading
WHAT ABOUT SLEEPING FOR TWELVE HOURS?
If Betty White’s quote is true, I must be really ugly. Last night I slept for twelve hours. This has not been a common occurence for me in some time. Ever since the pandemic began, my sleeping habits have reversed … Continue reading
CAPTURING THE WIND
We had a stiff wind yesterday and a reminder that we can’t control the elements. It started out as any normal day for a couple of old retired folks. We generally get up early, do our morning devotion and talk … Continue reading
WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN – ALREADY HAS
Nostalgia is defined as a bittersweet reminder of what things were like in the past; what we were way back when; who we spent time with and how much better our lives were. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could … Continue reading
RESTORATION
Thank you, God, for trouble, depression, pain and strife. You’ve promised to be with us in all we face in life. You temper us along the way, to make us perfect day by day. At times it seems like waiting is the only thing … Continue reading
EMBRACE THE ORDINARY
It’s good for us to embrace the ordinary in our lives. We often think our days are filled with nothing but chaos, but if you look deeply into each moment, you will find joy in even the tiniest of events. … Continue reading
SELF REFLECTION
It isn’t a matter of taking sides in a situation. We must first look at ourselves – our own mistakes and misconceptions – our flaws and voices that speak without thinking first. This week has been one of great ups … Continue reading
DOES NEW LIFE COME FROM A COCOON?
Remember the old movie, “Cocoon?” It’s listed as science fiction because some of the main characters were aliens that had been frozen in time in large cocoons and dropped into the ocean for future observation. Years later the pods are … Continue reading
NEW LIFE
The dark days of winter have finally passed, a new day awakes with the sun, The earth now gives way to the greening of grass, the squirrels are all on the run, A robin is perched on a sweet budding branch, a cardinal … Continue reading
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
It’s been less than a week since we ushered in Easter and praised God for conquering death so we would be guaranteed eternal life. How’s that working for you? How soon we forget the glorious message of hope and promise. … Continue reading
FIRST DAY OF SPRING
ORIGINAL ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER© We will see the thermometer rise to 60 degrees today, but can expect snow by midweek. In Minnesota, the winter takes its time leaving. In spite of it, we celebrate the … Continue reading
CRAZY HOLIDAYS
Today is March 9th, which also happens to be False Teeth Day. I really get a kick out of the many holidays available to celebrate. Who thinks these up anyway and why would a day be set aside for fake … Continue reading
SPRING CLEANING
Actually, I generally fall asleep when I read, so that excuse isn’t going to work anymore. Spring time is a great opportunity to sweep away the cobwebs and sorrows – or is that “Tomorrow?” In any event, spring often conjures … Continue reading
IF YOU DON’T MIND, IT DOESN’T MATTER
Actually the above statement is untrue. I haven’t been to the doctor in over a year. The only medical attention I’ve had recently is getting my COVID19 shot. My doctor, however, is an amazing woman. I miss seeing her, because … Continue reading
ONE OF A KIND
One thing I’ve learned since I semi-retired a few years ago, is that I wasted a whole lot of time worrying about the small stuff. When you’re in the process of beginning adulthood and being responsible for others, you sometimes … Continue reading
ALL THINGS LIVING
When my now 25 year old grandson was about three, he created his first book. He loved listening to his grandpa talk about nature and would often search under rocks to observe the insects. Because he started learning about the … Continue reading
JEWELS OF DE NIAL
Well here it is, the first episode of “Jewels of de Nial,” the project I’ve been collaborating on for the past year. Since we did this mostly throughout the time of the pandemic, we went from a stage production to … Continue reading
NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN
Think of what it was like in the 16th century, before the printing press was invented. Folks had to rely on word of mouth for their information and by the time they got it, it was so distorted, it was … Continue reading
