As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

HALLOWEEN BLOOD TEST
POETRY BY KATHY BOECHER A few years ago, I was scheduled to have a blood test at my clinic. It was the day before Halloween so I wasn’t too surprised to see the staff dressed in costume, but I had … Continue reading
I DON’T NEED INFLATION
During most of my 79 years, I have been fighting inflation. I dont need it anymore, nor do I want it. Begone with thee, inflation!. I’ve seen my body mass go up and down more than the economy and in … Continue reading
SNAKES IN THE BASEMENT
My husband grew up in a home that also housed the family business – a funeral home. There were the usual jokes throughout his childhood about people dying to get in there. There were an abundance of stories that would … Continue reading
POST 9/11
The mermaid in the photos was sculpted during the year 2001 by my husband Paul Boecher. It is mounted on a bar at the Newsroom Restaurant in downtown Minneapolis. The bar is shaped like an old pirate ship and the … Continue reading
FUNNY MONDAY
I’m a big fan of Maxine. She tells it like it is and I often do too. I’m much more courageous when I don’t have to confront anyone face to face. The written word is my battleground and I spurt … Continue reading
TODAY IS HAMMOCK DAY – WHO KNEW?
Those dog days of summer, when the heat will not allow you to do anything physical except get into a hammock and sleep the day away. That is of course unless you’re a human – a woman with few motor … Continue reading
SMILE OR SING THROUGH YOUR TROUBLES
“Celebrate your success and find humor in your failures. Don’t take yourself so seriously. Loosen up and everyone around you will loosen up. Have fun and always show enthusiasm. When all else fails, put on a costume and sing a … Continue reading
MY HEAD IS IN THE CLOUD(S)
I promised to be back and here I am again. Unfortunately, you can’t get rid of me unless something of great magnitude occurs – like the breakdown of a computer. Who knew? I’m sure there are many who didn’t miss … Continue reading
CUTTING THE CORD
I must admit to my addiction to television, especially in the past year or so. For some “unknown” reason I’ve found myself escaping into the world of cable TV. I’ve discovered I can watch many of the better shows and … Continue reading
FRIDAY CHUCKLES
I love dogs. I also like to laugh, so today I’ll step away from my normal seriousness and LOL. It’s not easy to find humor in the events of today, but I think it’s mandatory. Laughter has always been good … Continue reading
DAYS OF THE YEAR – APRIL 7, 2021
I love checking out all the weird holiday celebrated each day. Today is not only National Beer Day, Coffee Cake Day and No Housework Day, but it happens to World Health Day, which kind of nullifies the three above celebrations. … Continue reading
SPRING HAS SPRUNG
The minute I typed the title for today’s blog, I thought to myself, this is way too optimistic. Spring in the Midwest usually doesn’t begin until somewhere between late April and July. We’ve been known to have blizzards in May. … Continue reading
CRAZY HOLIDAYS
Today is March 9th, which also happens to be False Teeth Day. I really get a kick out of the many holidays available to celebrate. Who thinks these up anyway and why would a day be set aside for fake … Continue reading
THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT
What do you see in this photograph from the 1950s? To me, it’s a memory of Saturdays in my childhood. Each of those days would find me and every other kid in the neighborhood using our hard earned allowance to … Continue reading
JEWELS OF DE NIAL
Well here it is, the first episode of “Jewels of de Nial,” the project I’ve been collaborating on for the past year. Since we did this mostly throughout the time of the pandemic, we went from a stage production to … Continue reading
SCREAMS IN THE NIGHT
Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have used my time in isolation to watch old movies – mostly of a mysterious nature. I’ve kind of run out of the usual like, “The Maltese Falcon,” “Casablanca,” “North by Northwest,” “The … Continue reading
HAPPY WORLD INTROVERT DAY
I can totally relate to this unusual day of celebration. I used to be an introvert. At least for the first thirty or so years of my life. “How can she say that,” you may ask? I’m a performer, a … Continue reading
STUBBY RETURNS
Our little friend, Stubby, the squirrel disappeared for a couple weeks in December of 2020, but made a brief appearance again late in the month. Just about the time we had given up on seeing him again, he made a … Continue reading
