As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

CLOSED CAPTIONING MISHAPS
I started using the closed captioning feature on our TV set because of my hearing loss. Since my husband doesn’t suffer from the same malady, it seems the perfect solution. Reading the captions can take something away from the performance, … Continue reading

IT’S GARAGE SALE DAY
Five years ago, we downsized after 24 years of living in the same house to one half the size. It was a time of purging – release – letting go and giving up. I believe I had about five garage … Continue reading
GET OVER YOURSELF
The image I’m showing today has nothing to do with the topic of this post. I just had to chuckle and share it with you, because I sometimes need reminders of the important things in life. Laughter is always beneficial … Continue reading

WHO IS THE PARENT?
When I was doing the parenting thing, I was often flying by the seat of my pants. Whoever thought up that phrase and what does it mean exactly? I couldn’t just let that one go by without a little research. … Continue reading

SATURDAY PRAYER
Lord, I ask that you become the center of my life. You give me a reason to get up every day. You motivate me in all my comings and goings. You lift and encourage me when I feel I can’t … Continue reading
TODAY IS HAMMOCK DAY – WHO KNEW?
Those dog days of summer, when the heat will not allow you to do anything physical except get into a hammock and sleep the day away. That is of course unless you’re a human – a woman with few motor … Continue reading
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER
Lots of people look at age as a sign of weakness, deterioration and imminent death. Some cultures place age in a special place because of the wisdom a person has acquired in his life. In America, we tend to admire … Continue reading
WHERE LIES YOUR TREASURE?
Almost five years ago, we downsized our house of 24 years and an accumulation of over 50. We painstakingly waded through things that we considered eventual treasures and got rid of many of them. We moved into a renovated … Continue reading
MONDAY MINDSET
It’s Monday . . . again. The Mondays seem to come faster and faster as we trudge through our journey here on earth. As we age, time in general goes rapidly, unlike the days of our youth when it seemed … Continue reading
IS YOUR AGE GETTING IN THE WAY OF LIVING?
It seems that every day is a reminder of God’s grace in my life – especially when I get close to another birthday. Wrinkles and laugh lines have been apparent for a long time now, so they don’t really bother … Continue reading
FROM BIRTH TO DEATH
There are few movies that my husband agree on watching together – westerns and old war movies. Last night we watched “Broken Trail,” with Robert Duvall. The above quote seemed to be his favorite funeral eulogy as he led a … Continue reading
SHABBY CHIC
Some of the areas within our backyard have become a haven for many of our old treasures. Some are new additions. Soon we’ll have to downsize the outside of our house. “What’s so fascinating and frustrating and great about life … Continue reading

CAPTURING THE WIND
We had a stiff wind yesterday and a reminder that we can’t control the elements. It started out as any normal day for a couple of old retired folks. We generally get up early, do our morning devotion and talk … Continue reading
