As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

BE PATIENT IN SUFFERING
In Romans 12:12 God tells us to be patient in our suffering. This seems like a lot to ask, but when we think of what our Jesus had to go through it really isn’t. Our suffering here is nothing compared … Continue reading
GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD
You may be a victim of domestic violence. You might hold some deep dark secret that would condemn you if the world knew about it. You may be in the throes of addiction. Why on earth would you thank God? … Continue reading
SPECIAL TIME WITH SOMEONE SPECIAL
There is something amazing about being a grandparent. It doesn’t only have to do with pride and a feeling of accomplishment, but is almost like having a second chance at motherhood. My grand daughter and I had a special time this weekend. … Continue reading
DOES HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF?
Think of what it was like in the 16th century, before the printing press was invented. Folks had to rely on word of mouth for their information and by the time they got it, it was so muddled, it was … Continue reading
LOOK AHEAD!
I’ve come to the end busy week in my world. It started with my final week of coaching almost 90 kids in the fine art of public speaking. It has been fun watching them develop their skills and to hear … Continue reading
Time for a Kathy rant
It sounds like fodder for a novel. Espionage, corruption, criminal border crossings, a market for sex slavery, information breaches, drug cartels, the rapid spread of a communicable disease, unemployment, failed government intervention and bailouts of large corporations, a flawed health … Continue reading
SECRETS
I started writing a novel a few years ago. Sometimes you have to put your writing away for a while and brood over it. It’s in my head – I just haven’t had the time to sit down and finish … Continue reading
WHAT’S YOUR LEGACY?
We all have a certain amount of drama in our lives. Many have more than most. Some lead rather normal lives and some never experience anything dramatic at all. When you think about it, everything in our lives has some … Continue reading
Lord, Keep Us Steadfast in your Word
A book rests idly on a table gathering dust. It’s easy to see that it has been ignored for some time. The pages are dog-eared and worn out, but the content hasn’t changed. Notes are scribbled in the margins – … Continue reading
MY GUARDIAN ANGEL
I can’t help wondering how my guardian angel is doing. I’ve lived for over seventy years and given that angel a run for his money. I’m convinced he earns his wings over and over every day. I imagine him to look pretty … Continue reading
COLUMBUS DAY
I remember the days leading up to Columbus Day when I was a child in elementary school. We’d draw pictures of the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. We were told stories of how people viewed the world as … Continue reading
HAVE WE SHORTCHANGED OUR YOUNG WOMEN?
When the Feminist Movement got underway in the 60’s, women applauded the rights they demanded. They burned their bras in protest. They shed all evidence of the things they felt were binding them or holding them back. Their cry for equality … Continue reading
FAIRY TALES OR TRUTH?
I grew up on fairy tales. These stories filled my brain with hopes of finding the perfect mate, the wonderful life, the answers to all my dreams and hopes. Unfortunately, those stories were also filled with fearful characters that got … Continue reading
WORK, LABOR, JOB, EMPLOYMENT, TASKS, ETC., ETC., ETC.
“The world is full of willing people, some willing to work, the rest willing to let them.” Robert Frost Many of the railroads in our country were cut through mountain sides and across wide rivers with simple tools, dynamite and many … Continue reading
POLITICS AS USUAL
We have already been inundated with political ads in my part of the country as I’m sure most of you have. If this is any indicator of what lies ahead, I think we’re in for a long couple of years. As a … Continue reading
THE ONLY WAY OUT
“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may … Continue reading
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHARLIE BROWN
It’s Charlie Brown’s 64th birthday today. In 1950 he made his first appearance as a cartoon character. Just think – in another year he can collect Social Security and start living the dream of all the rest of us Baby Boomers. … Continue reading
BUMPS IN THE ROAD
I live in Minnesota where there are two seasons – winter and road construction. Actually, my home state has much more to offer than just those two seasons, but these two events are something we’ve learned to tolerate over time. When the … Continue reading
WHAT IS TRUTH?
I wonder if Pontius Pilate had any idea what Jesus was saying when he heard the accused firmly state that he indeed was a king. Here was an ordinary criminal declaring His defense. Pilate probably was trying to engage our Lord … Continue reading
Day off
Today I’m taking off to enjoy time with family and friends who will join with us to celebrate our special day – so I’m re-posting an older one of my posts. See you tomorrow. The icy grip of the world … Continue reading
