As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

A LIONESS IN WINTER
“What freezings I have felt, what dark days seen, What old December’s bareness everywhere!” William Shakespeare This morning I realized what my poor dog has been going through. As I took him outside for his morning ritual, he began … Continue reading
I FEEL LIKE CINDERELLA!
Every young girl dreams of someday finding her Prince Charming – of being magically transformed into a vision of loveliness – of finding true love and living happily ever after. On our wedding day, we feel like a princess, dressed … Continue reading
AGING ENLIGHTENED
The Age of Enlightenment was a time in history between 1700-1800. It was a time when the world was changing drastically. Some considered it a time of enlightenment and philosophy. In our own nation, big changes were occurring. Immigrants in … Continue reading
GET RID OF THAT BELLY FAT
OK, so the after the holidays diet started out pretty good. I even lost a couple pounds. Then Sunday came and my church is big on snacks so that got me started again. It began with a small caramel and … Continue reading
I’M LIVING IN NARNIA!
“Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight, At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.” … Continue reading
A SENSE OF PLACE
This week has been a busy one for my husband, Paul, as he prepares to launch a one man show of his art on Saturday, January 12, 2019. For those of us in our seventies, any kind of exertion can … Continue reading
CALASTHENICS FOR THE MIND
For the past year or so, taking some of my knowledge about acting to a lovely assisted living and memory care facility in my area. Through the use of improvisation and sense memory, we are really making a nice connection. … Continue reading
WHAT WILL I BE WHEN I GROW UP?
First of all, I am 76 years old and I admit that growing up isn’t what it’s cracked up to be. I believe the whole process is overrated. When we’re five we can’t wait to be ten. When we’re ten we … Continue reading
HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK
OK this cartoon has nothing to do with the highlight, but I thought it was cute. This week has actually been pretty quiet for me and because we’re changing seasons quickly here in Lake Woebegone, I thought I’d start organizing closets for … Continue reading
THE GOLD IN AGING
Each year becomes more of a struggle. We trudge through life, with goals, hopes and dreams. We reach the epitome of living and wonder who we are, why we’re here and where we’re going. Within the blink of an eye, … Continue reading
MASTER OF NONE?
A great deal of emphasis is placed on gaining a superior education. To be a master of anything pretty much secures a spot in the workplace. But what about the “Masters” of old – the artists, the writers, the performers, … Continue reading
WEEKEND WRAPUP
My weekly work keeps me at home for most of the day – working on my blog, memorizing lines for the play I’m in, writing articles and other things. For the most part, my work week is pretty laid back. … Continue reading
BIZARRE HOLIDAYS
Some think that anyone over 70 is ready for the grave, but we still have a lot to offer. About one third of U.S. Senators are over 70 – nice part time job for a retiree – but I digress. I … Continue reading
I WON’T GROW UP
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we didn’t have to grow up – if we didn’t have to go to school – if we could do whatever we want without following the rules? In John Barrie’s, “Peter Pan” the author created a place … Continue reading
BECOMING YOUR PARENT’S PARENT
The parenting role never changes. Once you become one, you are one for life. As your children grow and start new lives, they may be gone, but not forgotten. Their safety, their freedom from problems and worry, their joys and … Continue reading
FILLED WITH GOLD
When we mend something with gold, we’re not only solidifying the base, we’re holding true to the importance of the damaged item. Such is as it is when you grow old. I’m in a point in my life where six month … Continue reading
SOME DAYS ARE MADE FOR PAINTING
ART & INSPIRATION BY KATHY BOECHER© Last week I posted about taking advantage of the good days. I planned on a rerun the next day, but having overdone it the day before, led to less strenuous activity. I love my garden … Continue reading
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE GOOD DAYS
We don’t get too many perfect days where I live. When you suffer from breathing issues, allergies and old age, you relish it when a day comes along that’s just the right temperature, with low dew points and not much pollen … Continue reading
AGING LIKE A FINE WINE
