ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©
Most of my readers are aware that my husband was an artist. He taught art, he made art and he found art in every aspect of his life. He was also an avid outdoorsman, who taught himself how to do archery in the basement of his home. He lived in the upper quarters of a funeral home, with a basement large enough for an archery range, He loved everything about nature and the creatures within it. He took up hunting early in his life. He challenged himself to hunt with bow and arrow, which isn’t always successful, especially with traditional equipment. His hunting days are over, but remnants and memories linger on. His art is filled with God’s creation. The watercolor sketch of a white-tailed deer is an example of what he was hunting for.
Snow soon will be in the forecast, the trees will lose all their leaves,
The earth has been harvested, and they’ve brought in all the sheaves,
It’s time to hunt for white tail, at least that’s what I’ve been told,
They don their blaze orange jackets, to assure they will grow old,
Right now, it’s hunting season but you hunt with bow and arrow,
You must possess great eyesight, or you might shoot a sparrow,
You may go home with nothing, but you aren’t wasting time,
The clean, fresh air is splendid and the atmosphere sublime.
THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR ANOTHER DAY!

Happy hunting!!
