STANDING UP FOR JESUS

Each and every time the Children of Israel walked away from God, they also strayed from His blessings.  When they returned to Him, God richly showered His love on them just as the prodigal son’s father did for him.

We may walk out on God from time to time, thinking we can go it alone – that we can handle things.  We may even turn our backs on Him when other beliefs and lifestyles sound more appealing.

God never stops loving us even when we’re stubborn, indignant, foolish, proud or even blatantly against Him.  He waits patiently for us to return. When the prodigal son returned to his father in humility and broken, the father lavished his love and all of the best of his wealth upon him.  The same is even more true for our heavenly Father.

Are you ready to defend your faith?  Would you be able to even if your life depended on it?  Today men, women and children are being put into that very position as they face persecution as it hasn’t been seen in many years.  We are blessed in our country to still have the right to worship as we please, but would we be able to defend our Lord if that weren’t the case?

Dear Father, you are my rock and fortress.  I tend to sway when confronted with difficult decisions and life changing issues.  I know that you can defeat any of my enemies, but I don’t always have the strength to stand up for you.  Please send your Spirit into my heart and let Him work to increase my faith and give me the words to defend you in every aspect of my life.  Amen!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

  1. Do you remember the children’s hymn Stand up, stand up for Jesus?
    We use to sing it in chapel when I was little:
    Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
    Ye soldiers of the cross;
    Lift high his royal banner,
    It must not suffer loss.
    From victory unto victory
    His army shall he lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.

    I felt like a Christian solider then— and now I think our draft numbers have come up!!!! We lift that banner high!!!!

      Indeed I remember the hymn. I’ll now be singing it in my sleep. Jesus won the greatest victory ever and that’s why we stand up for him.
