Today another of our law enforcement servants will be laid to rest and anger will rage over  a disease that’s spreading like wild fire in our nation.  While special interest groups, activists and politicians rant over the injustices going on in our country, it’s time for a call to God for intervention.

The United States has become great not only because of the hard work and sweat of its people, but because of its diversity and open door policy.  We were also founded Judeo/Christian values and the truth of God’s Word.

God’s people have a long history of turning away from Him and trying to do things in their own way with little success.  When we come back, we have His protection, His love, and His forgiveness.  Even when we abuse His teachings and follow the temptations of this world, He is like the father of the prodigal son, stretching out His loving arms for His returning child.  When we come to Him with repentance in our hearts there is no limit to what He will do for us.

It’s time for us to all get down on our knees and ask God to heal our country.   We’ve withstood enemies great and small.  We’ve overcome tremendous odds in rebuilding during times of crisis, but in the past few decades there’s been an insidious force at work to destroy us from within.

It doesn’t come from a terrorist nation – or from poverty – or from lack of leadership.  Our destruction has been orchestrated by the prince of hell himself.  We can’t let him win.  Our victory depends on us returning to the One True God.

Instead of rioting in the streets, protest marches, hate and destruction, let’s use the one tool at our disposal with the greatest clout.  God is our sure defense against Satan.  He has already defeated him.  The power of prayer is greater than any nuclear weapon – any strong armed enemy – any physical disaster – any amount of hatred or abuse – the devil himself.  The result of this simple act can move mountains and change hearts.
