As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

THE OLD ROUND BARN
Here is another painting which holds many separate stories. Our lives are filled with many pieces, all coming together to create a masterpiece. Within the city limits stands a relic from the past, It used to hold some animals, but … Continue reading

DEATH HAS NO HOLD ON ME
I don’t understand why God allows some of us to go on living for so many years while others are taken at an early age. It’s one of those mysteries that don’t make sense to me. I do know that … Continue reading
FORGET ABOUT IT!
Fear is mentioned many times in the Bible. The phrase, “Do not be afraid” was spoken, when God’s angels announced the birth of the Savior to shepherds. The Psalms are loaded with references to fear in King David’s prayers. The … Continue reading
OBSTACLES OVERCOME
As I sit here at my window this morning, a new scene is taking place. Usually I watch the birds at the feeder or the squirrels beneath it. Occasionally there’s a feral cat or two to amuse. Today there is … Continue reading
THE WORLD WITHOUT YOU
What would the world be without you? God had your life planned out before you ever came into existence. His plans are perfect and He wants His purpose to be accomplished. If you never were , You never would have … Continue reading
BAH, HUMBUG
I can sympathize with this poor cat. Especially this year. We go through all the motions of dressing our houses with lights and decorations. We shop (this year online) until we drop. We plan limited gatherings with no more than … Continue reading
LITTLE TREASURES
When we moved into our new “old” house four years ago, these little treasures went undiscovered for two Christmases. Paul had meticulously carved chunks of wood into these special Santas and I have enjoyed displaying them over the years. We … Continue reading
FAMILY TREE
Twisted and battered, weathered and worn, aged through the ravage of time, Broken and tattered, beaten and torn, victim of nature’s own crime, Stands straight and tall, defeated yet strong, its outside is scuffed not dead, Inside alive, though things … Continue reading
TAPESTRY
A landscape filled with a plethora of splendid textures, A treasure trove just waiting to be wallowed in, The roughness of a sandy hill leads to a path of prickly pines, Winding and swirling into a pond of still, glasslike … Continue reading
KITCHEN CENTERPIECE
As I think back to times that warm my heart, I can’t help but remember the old cast iron stove that was the centerpiece of my grandparent’s kitchen. That huge conservator of heat kept the house warm – listened to … Continue reading
FROM A TRICKLE TO A RAGING RIVER
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER© A small mass of melting snow trickles gently over rocks and crevices, Weeping as the tears of God, Hemorrhaging from each pore within the granite, Shards of glasslike ice, Intertwining, Mingling, Coexisting, … Continue reading
BIRD ON A LEDGE
A wondrous sight sat on a ledge, his feathers he did flutter, His voice sang notes that reached to God like words he couldn’t mutter, Upon that ledge so far from earth his voice entered heaven’s gate, He hoped with … Continue reading
MY ONE TRUE GOD
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER My God is like no other God, His wings span wider than an eagle, Searching, Watching, Uncovering the majesty below, He lifts me up beyond the sky, Into eternal paradise, His hands … Continue reading
YOUR WILL, NOT MINE
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER My God, you’ve shown your will for me in everything you do, You break the earth, you cut through rock, you kiss the morning dew, The skies surrender to your voice, the … Continue reading
MOVING ON OR LIVING IN THE PAST
I think every generation believes that the “good old days” were the times they were growing up and young adults. George Washington undoubtedly preferred remembering the days when he was cutting down cherry trees more than his time leading a … Continue reading
REBRANDING
ORIGINAL ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER© This familiar piece of art is one of my favorites, because it shows how something old can become useful when someone has the vision and the wherewithal. It’s also an inspiring reminder … Continue reading
GENERATION REDEEMED
It seems every generation has been tagged with some sort of nickname. For example; the roaring 20s, the dirty 30s, the swinging 60s and the disco 70s. Other terms are also associated with each age; such as the Greatest Generation, … Continue reading
ONE FELL SWOOP
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER© (It always puzzles me how so many of the gigantic birds are able to lift their heavy bodies to the skies. Even when their mouths are filled with breakfast and the aerodynamics seem impossible, they … Continue reading
ABANDONED HOUSEBOAT
ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER© The old houseboat still maintained a look of elegance even though paint was chipped and faded – the bough battered slightly from constant pushing against a battered shoreline, She sat quietly moored … Continue reading
