As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

COLUMBUS DAY
I remember the days leading up to Columbus Day when I was a child in elementary school. We’d draw pictures of the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. We were told stories of how people viewed the world as … Continue reading
NOT GUILTY!
When you’re raising a family, there just aren’t enough hours in the day. As a young mother, I often felt overwhelmed with tons of menial tasks which seemed to sap my energy. I felt guilty for not spending enough time … Continue reading
HAVE WE SHORTCHANGED OUR YOUNG WOMEN?
When the Feminist Movement got underway in the 60’s, women applauded the rights they demanded. They burned their bras in protest. They shed all evidence of the things they felt were binding them or holding them back. Their cry for equality … Continue reading
FAIRY TALES OR TRUTH?
I grew up on fairy tales. These stories filled my brain with hopes of finding the perfect mate, the wonderful life, the answers to all my dreams and hopes. Unfortunately, those stories were also filled with fearful characters that got … Continue reading
WORK, LABOR, JOB, EMPLOYMENT, TASKS, ETC., ETC., ETC.
“The world is full of willing people, some willing to work, the rest willing to let them.” Robert Frost Many of the railroads in our country were cut through mountain sides and across wide rivers with simple tools, dynamite and many … Continue reading
POLITICS AS USUAL
We have already been inundated with political ads in my part of the country as I’m sure most of you have. If this is any indicator of what lies ahead, I think we’re in for a long couple of years. As a … Continue reading
THE ONLY WAY OUT

Day off
Today I’m taking off to enjoy time with family and friends who will join with us to celebrate our special day – so I’m re-posting an older one of my posts. See you tomorrow. The icy grip of the world … Continue reading
LIFE CHANGING SEASONS
There is nothing like autumn in Minnesota. It’s the reason we live in this part of the country. The other seasons hold their own special beauty, but fall is full of amazing colors and elements that fill the senses to … Continue reading
You Can Do It!
For three days a week I have the pleasure of working one-on-one with 5-8 graders, developing their public speaking skills. I have already had some of these same kids in drama classes and it has been so much fun watching … Continue reading
Compromise
The first year of marriage is a time of learning the most intimate thoughts about the one you love. It means discovering that he hasn’t yet learned to put the toilet seat down and she doesn’t roll up the toothpaste tube. … Continue reading
YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW
The giant reaper opens it massive jaws and its teeth consume the hay – It spits out bales of golden chunks as it forages through fields of fodder – food that will keep the cattle happy for the cold months ahead. … Continue reading
SUPER HEROES
The idea of separating the exceptional from the ordinary isn’t new. The Greeks were masters of setting them up on a pedestal. They told stories about their heroes – they performed plays about them – they even worshiped them. Today, society … Continue reading
A PERFECT ROLE MODEL
Do we place upon a pedestal the heroes of our time? We sometimes make them idols. Do we think they are divine? When they show that they are human, they quickly tumble down. They lose that place of honor. They … Continue reading
I CAN’T DO THIS ALONE!
There are days when we wonder how we got through the day. We can become discouraged by all the evil in the world – by a difficult health diagnosis – a day at work that was impossible to handle – or … Continue reading
HERE COMES THE BRIDE!
When we begin our lives as Christians, we are actually entering a marriage with Jesus. We are committing our lives to Him. We are vowing to live our lives according to His ways. We are promising to love Him forever. … Continue reading
BOUND FOR A NEW WORLD
There were 102 on board the small sailing vessels. Half of them had tired of the corruption in the Church of England and were bound for a new life where they could worship as they pleased; while half of them … Continue reading
I’M OFFENDED!
I am getting really sick of it! I’m tired of hearing that my country’s flag has become offensive to some. I’m overwhelmed that some are offended by my lack of understanding of sexual immorality. I’m disgusted that just about everything … Continue reading
BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
Every day we are exposed to the evil that contaminates our world. What goes on behind closed doors is often disgusting, appalling, pitiful, inhumane and full of hatred. As I look at news events I read about a home in … Continue reading
DOES BEING A CHRISTIAN GUARANTEE A PERFECT LIFE?
I have moments when I get depressed and anxious. At times I ask God, why are certain things happening to me? Why are there still problems, sickness, confusion, fears? Why do I try to measure up to someone else – why must we … Continue reading
