WHISPERING WINDS . . .

ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©

April is a mix of every kind of weather. It may start out with some snow. It slowly progresses to warmer temperatures, but not without a fight. Rain comes to nourish the new life beginning to pop through dormant soil. There might be a tornado or strong damaging winds. It’s as if those things can’t make up their mind about what they should do. Much like us, we struggle through adversity. We push ourselves out of a long winter’s nap, hoping for new beginnings and challenges. We anticipate change for the better, but something different makes its way into your days. Change is not easy for most of us. We like to have things in order and consistent. Like the weather, our emotions, our mindsets, our dreams, our goals can all turn on us with the breath of God. Instead of fighting those stumbling blocks, turn them over to the One who never changes. He will gladly carry our burdens.

Howling, whistling, streaming through a patch of aging trees,

The wind surprises and upsets and strips them of their leaves,

One day a lush green canopy, another turned to gold,

Soon withered, dry and sapped of life, they waiver in the cold,

The signs of life are all but gone, the snow will soon be here,

The days grow short, the sun subsides, but still we do not fear ,

Beneath that cloak of white shall rise, new life again in spring,

Like we shall someday rise from death, when new life God does bring.

We all are swept by winds of time, our days are very short,

We live, we dream, we try, we fail, the problems we can’t sort,

We’re pushed and tossed, and crushed it seems,

The blood of Christ redeems,

Our sins have been forgiven, our life is guaranteed,

God promises us His Kingdom if we only will believe.

THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR ANOTHER DAY!

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

Beautiful!! Oh, Mama K, amen to all of this. You so eloquently penned the tumultuous turning of seasons- I don’t mind the fast changes and the shifts anymore. It’s where he’s doing the most work in me. I can’t even explain the new things that He’s brought in the ups and downs of this last week. But you understand! And we live in the promise of a new life restored! I’m praying for continued healing and restoration. I love you dearly.♥️🙏

This has been a week of ups and downs for me too. Nothing major, just a lot going on. God hasn’t changed through all of it. My prayers are with you every day. Been trying my hand at watercolor using Paul’s paints. Fun❤️

  3. Amen. Kathy, I appreciate the multiple treads woven in the fabric of this post. I can actually feel the sting of a chilly, rainy morning from Paul’s painting . . . now chilled to the bone. Nature’s rhythm speaks throughout your poem. Our Creator’s spirit rises with every verse. Peace be with you.
