BLACK & WHITE DRAMA . . .

ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER

One of the most influential photographers of the 20th century was Ansel Adams. He was especially known for his black and white photos. Being an environmentalist and naturalist, he loved scoping out and enjoying the magnificence of locations that would seem impossible to reach. Black and white most often creates a sense of drama, not only in photography but also in the pen or pencil of an artist. Paul was a master of finding it in the cliffs right here in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This drawing shows the glory of God’s handiwork and Paul’s interpretation. It currently hangs in the living room of our home. It won an award at the Banfill Locke Center for Arts in Fridley, MN several years ago.  I am always amazed by the stark reality that he captured in his work, but there’s a lot to be said for black and white.

Life itself is not all black and white, but the glory of God’s creation is majestic in all of nature.  Last night we were witness to an amazing red sky that melted into purple, blue and eventually grey and the darkness of night.  Enjoy these treasures that God has placed before us.  I’m quite certain that all the artists now living in heaven are doing their best work for our pleasure.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

  1. Awesome! Paul had talent, that’s for sure. 👏👏

  2. Drama filled with meaning for us to embrace. As I search Paul’s drawing, my inadequate vision attempts to see the connectivity of every line. Eventually, I’m worn out. Paul’s own patience in creating his artwork reminds us to be more patient in waiting. God’s drama never misses! Kathy, thank you for sharing Paul’s gift as an artist.
