A tiny droplet of water clings to a dying leaf – hanging on for dear life,
Soon it falls into oblivion into the waiting earth below,
The tears of a child sets off a chain reaction of frustration, helplessness,
Defiance, insecurity and a plethora of emotions,
Only to be replaced with a smile big enough to consume the hardest of hearts;
You fall in love – once – again – another time – again,
Each time you believe it’s the real thing, the only thing,
Life changes you, your opinions, your goals,
You fall out of love.
Saline fills the eyes and tears result. Tiny capsules filled with emotion waiting to be released.
Self worth can be squashed in a second, with just a word, creating a mountain of anxiety and angst.
Is there anyone who can wipe away the tears?
Is there no one who feels our pain?
Will our tears ever be erased, never to return?
While we walk this planet, hearts will break.
Tears will fill swollen eyes.
Life will go on.
But there is a love much greater than we can ever know.
A love that has no boundaries, conditions or expectations.
Just pure unblemished love that transcends the ages.
The love of God is available to all.
It’s freely given.
Because you are loved by the Creator of the Universe.
He treasures you as His own child.
He loves purely.
He asks only that you believe,
Trust,
Have faith in His plans for you.
Surrender.

Poems such as this one stir up more intense feelings than normal for me. Witnessing our Savior throughout these verses . . . again cherishing a single love, none greater. Blessings to you Kathy for igniting a flame filled with love, faith, and hope.
