OPPOSITE DAY

I love checking out the weird and wacky holidays  listed on the internet.  It seems I can always find a story in this useless information.  I know, I have to find something else to occupy my time, right?  Anyway, today is Opposite Day – a day probably invented by kids, because everything we say or do is the opposite of all that.

In other words, I am really Batman.  Actually I’m Batman’s grandmother, but for today, I’m Batman.  I also love spinach and oysters.  I’m not afraid to walk the plank.  I’m living on the edge every moment of my life and I have the energy of ten thousand monkeys.  In addition to that, I can leap tall buildings in a single bound.  I’ve been known to fend of an army of giant ants.  I’m willing to walk down the Nicollet Mall wearing a cheese head and Green Bay Packer sweatshirt.

You get the picture.  Where do people come up with these silly holidays?  It must be a very creative mind, sitting in an igloo in Siberia with nothing else to do.  I imagine his name is Peggy and he also serves as a customer service rep for a credit card company.  Peggy has a crew of penguins who serve has his back up team and the go from igloo to igloo delivering hot pizzas.

I’m all for creativity.  I’m a writer – or so I think I am.  Actually I’m the King of France.

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.

I visited my son in July and discovered that July 24 was Tell an Old Joke Day, so I dedicated an early post to old jokes. I’d just started the blog in early July, or was it late-January?

Good for you! Everyone needs to laugh once a day and you should also receive a minimum of four hugs.

I remember Opposite Day happening in the comic strip Calvin & Hobbes. I don’t know if it started, there, but I remember Calvin annoying his parents by observing Opposite Day. J.
