ART & INSPIRATION FROM PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©
Over a number of years, my husband carved each of these Santas from a chunk of wood and gifted them to me. When we moved last year, those Santas were individually wrapped, gently packed into a box and we haven’t seen them since. Of course Santa isn’t the focus of our Christmas celebration, but somehow not having them on display in our new “old” house is kind of sad.
I know the box is somewhere. It’s either stacked in the attic of our garage, or tucked away within a closet inside the house. Each one of these little statues resembles the artist somewhat. There’s one that’s shaped like a pickle and another looks like a hot pepper. They each have their own personality. This is our second Christmas in our new old house and I find myself really missing those guys.
When the warmer weather returns, we’ll begin in earnest to look for them. Who knows what other treasures we may find. Maybe next Christmas, we can display them again. The important thing is that we can tuck away memories, but the true meaning of Christmas and the bounty of God’s love for us has only one place to reside and that’s within our hearts.
Your husband is so gifted! I can well imagine why you miss these carvings! They are spectacular! I hope you are able to find them.

He has sold a few. They are one of a kind, but most people are satisfied to buy mass produced items like this for much less money. Do you want to be
