The eagle cam has discovered three new eaglets born this week. I can’t help but wonder at the gift of life as it goes on in all the species. These three little puffs of feathers had a a rough start with temperatures in single digits and even below freezing weather, but even in spite of that they seem to be thriving.
It’s nice to know that God is watching over His entire creation at the same time. He can tend to these three eaglets and still be available for the rulers of the world for advice. He can make sure they survive the elements and still be in control of all things, including the weather. He can lift them into the sky to soar and reach heights unknown, just as He lifts me up every day – even when it might seem that my hope has run out.
I love this passage from Isaiah, especially as my years are waning and I often feel I don’t have the strength or the ability to go one step further. It reminds me that all of us stumble and fall from time to time. Even the young among us grow weary and frustrated. All of us face difficulties and decisions as we travel life’s highway. It starts from day one when we emerge from our mother’s womb and scream at the world. The trials go on until we take our last breath, but if we are grounded in the One who created all of this, we too have the opportunity to soar like eagles – even us old fogeys.
That’s one of my favorites!
