ART & POETRY FROM KATHY BOECHER©
Yesterday, my family came to whisk all the leaves from my yard to prepare for winter’s coming. I am so blessed to have such loving children, and grandkids who make it possible for me to remain in my own home. I sometimes think about selling my house, but I love it here so much. Everything is very convenient. As years progress, that may change too. This season brings thoughts of the future and memories of the past. This painting is my watercolor version of the potted geraniums still persisting and pressing on. Soon to wither and die.
The vitality of an extended summer, leads to the reality of winter’s coming,
Waters take on a different cast as the chilled air reaches from the abyss below,
Magnificent sunrises and sunsets cast a plethora of color across a waiting sky,
We cross from one season, unscathed, untouched, unaware of what awaits,
We wonder sometimes what lies ahead,
What will happen when we die,
When our lives are blotted out by an excess of tomorrows,
God is in the midst of all of it,
He has given us this time of grace on earth,
To prepare,
To refine,
To grow and help others,
Most of all to serve in His kingdom,
Tomorrow will come too soon,
Life will wither into oblivion,
But it will also live on for those who believe.
THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR MY FAMILY!
