ORIGINAL ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©
This watercolor was done by Paul as he sat in some quiet nook in nature which inspired him. The beginning of a change in seasons has descended upon us. Soon all the trees will be flourishing in color. Today, just a hint of magic to come. As I sit by my window, watching leaves beginning to fall from the huge black walnut tree, I realize that summer is winding down and we’re moving into another chapter of life. As our lives revolve around the calendar of time, we take advantage to enjoy God’s splendor. Soak it all in. Enjoy the crisp, fresher air. Take a walk in the woods. Breathe in all the wonderful senses that are aroused – freshly baked apple or pumpkin pies – carving a Jack-O-Lantern – going on a hayride – sitting in front of a bonfire toasting marshmallows.
Our lives consist of seasons too. As we begin life, we’re like the months of Spring; when new life occurs. We burst forth with exuberance, anxious to begin the journey. In Summer we’re moving forward on our journey to the heat of adolescence and middle age; the time of growing, learning and worldly involvement. Proceeding on to Autumn, we look at the fruits of a lifetime; the failures and successes; the goals reached and the future secured. When we fall into Winter, our bodies are in the last stages of life; where skin withers and vigor is sapped. I am so grateful for all four of these seasons and the beauty God has adorned them with.
The end of summer will soon draw near,
Plans are made for a new school year.
Crops are ready for the harvest,
Tons of colors for the artist,
Bounty ready for collection,
Birds begin a new direction,
Animals gorge on their last meals,
Winter is right behind their heels,
Change is just a breath away,
Go and enjoy this summer day.
THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR ANOTHER DAY!
