ART & INSPIRATION BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER
The hawk is a mighty predatory bird. The beautiful detail in its wings is proof of God’s handiwork. Each feather serves a particular purpose. Each extension of the wings is amazing as they swoop in to catch their prey. There are many cultures that hold the hawk in great esteem for its symbolism. Some will say that the bird represents spiritual guidance and protection. Like the eagle and other large birds are referred to as signs that God is always present and provides for our safety. Hawks are often used to display outstanding eyesight. They can see far beyond their own beaks. Native Americans revere to the hawk as a symbol of divine intervention.
Paul had a natural gift for capturing birds and other creatures designed and made by God in his art. He watched them in their natural habitat. He photographed many for future reference. He studied Native American art in college and used the knowledge he gained there to produce some outstanding sculptures and paintings of birds and wildlife. He was in awe of what God provided through His creation.
As I approach the end of my days on earth, I can visualize myself being wrapped in the wings of my God – soaring up to heavenly realms – where no more sorrow exists – where there is no pain – where tears no longer fall- and peace will reign forever. Every day makes me long for that place more and more. I even wonder why it’s taking so long. I thank God for giving me a clean bill of health, but question what He has planned for the rest of my days. It is then that I think about the birds of the air and their freedom of flight – their ability to soar to heights unknown and be closer to their creator.
So, I know that I’m not ready to die. I’m not going to push it. I will still have pain and worry to deal with. I will trust in His wisdom and guidance because He is the maker of all things in heaven and earth. He’s got this.
THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR ANOTHER DAY!

“Yes Lord – show us what plow we are to put our hands to, day by day.”
