The big day of America’s 250th anniversary has come and gone. A day that lives on in the hearts of her citizens, giving them hope for a brighter future. I’ve written about this in the past few days, but my mind keeps returning to the true freedom we received at the greatest possible cost. We take one day to celebrate the birth of a nation and ften forget about her a few days later. We celebrate that our Savior overcame death by His sacrifice of the world to cover our sin and bring us the promise of eternal life.
Our nation will survive. It will go through many more changes in its history. The gift of our independence came at a great cost, but no act of independence or freedom should be taken for granted. As believers in Christ, we know that His selfless gift cannot be replicated. There is nothing we can personally do to show our gratitude except give thanks to Him and serve Him and our fellow man while we walk this earth. The glory belongs to Him.
When I think of the word freedom, my thoughts go to the most precious independence there is. Freedom from sin has been provided by God, but we still have a responsibility to the true Son of God; We can thank Him by being good citizens, by helping those in need, sharing God’s love with others and by reflecting His goodness.
We are a free nation. We are a free people. Both of those freedoms have been made possible by our Heavenly Father, who loves His children so much, that He gave His only begotten Son’s life to save us. With that knowledge we can move forward knowing that our life after this one is going to be even better.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
And May American bless God. A healthy relationship is reciprical lest the children grow to be arrogant…,
