JUST ANOTHER BIRTHDAY . . .

What if the life expectancy of a nation depended on smooth sailing – no problems – loss of respect or resources – a lack of patriotism? Having recently celebrated 84 years of my own life, I realize a whole bunch of things make up a lifetime. Usually, we go through days, weeks, months, even years, without any problems. Still, when difficulties do arrive, we muddle through, we suffer, we try to come up with solutions and as a last resort we pray. In order to survive, we should reverse those elements. Pray first and muddle through last. God is our supreme problem solver, and He invites us to come to Him for guidance.

We are living in terrifying times.  The possibility of nuclear disaster has become a political chess game.  The rhetoric of our government and the lives of our citizens are being threatened by our elected officials – those who are responsible to us.  Our ability to think for ourselves is slowly being taken over by artificial intelligence. As with all change, it’s a tough pill to swallow.  We could relinquish our free will.  We could let go of all control of our freedoms.  We could give up, give in and give way, but until God decides to wipe this world out of existence, I will continue to look forward.

Tomorrow, we celebrate 250 years of the life of America. The USA has been described as a nation, under God. It has been linked to a dream for a new life with opportunities for all. Time changes us. It alters the way we think and how we continue on. With all the new inventions made to make life easier for us, we’ve taken most of our freedoms for granted. Freedom has been won at a great cost. The loss of human life being the greatest. Entitlement often leads to dependence, and I fear this may be part of the problem. Have we forgotten our original birth pains? Have those years of pursuing the American dream left us with more of a nightmare?

I believe that we can regain our love of country, but it’s not going to be easy. Instead of being accepting and complacent, we may have to take on a new battle and fight for her again. Is America worth it? You bet she is. God will bless America if we put our faith in Him. He will restore the feeling of patriotism that has dwindled over the last hundred years. With God, all things are possible.

Civilization will not last, freedom will not survive, peace will not be kept, unless a very large majority of mankind unite together to defend them and show themselves possessed of a constabulary power before which barbaric and atavistic forces will.  Winston Churchill

About atimetoshare.me

As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension. I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog. I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ. My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
