C.S. Lewis authored over 30 books. He was a literary scholar, an atheist and later on in his life he returned to Christianity. At that time, he became a student and teacher of theology. His most popular series, “The Chronicles of Narnia.:” including “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe,” showed his interest in a fantasy world.
We often grow up with stories like this. The common fairy tale has a plot including a protagonist who is faced with difficult situations in life, searching for a happy ending. It may include several types of antagonists as well. We struggle through various tests and problems, and either accomplish them or fail. That’s what makes an interesting story. Unfortunately, the happy ending doesn’t always come true. At least, not in the way we choose it to.
We cannot create a masterpiece out of life. Only God can do that. He gave us the second chance we long for, by sending His Son to take our place – to redeem us from the power of the devil and give us the inheritance of heaven. He alone turns back the clock every time we come to Him with repentant hearts. If we let the world take hold of us, our masterpiece becomes just another piece of ordinary art, without merit, without hope, without love.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans12:2
