ART & POETRY BY PAUL & KATHY BOECHER©
This painting is pretty much of a diversion from what you see from Paul’s paintbrush. We’re accustomed to landscapes and beautiful vistas. This one is out of his realm, but don’t we all have days when we feel confused, conflicted, frustrated? Doors lead to anywhere or nowhere. Lots of choices. Since this is national poetry month, I thought I’d dig out some of my older poetry. Hope you enjoy this one as well as the painting.
A day free of anger and hostile aspersion,
The peaceful relief comes in simple diversion,
Turn back to the simple the sweet and the kind,
Release all the wrath that is filling your mind,
Give in to the beauty of all that surrounds,
Enjoy God’s creation where true love abounds,
We can’t change the world, even though we might try,
We can’t stop the bitterness creeping on by,
We can’t make it right, we just don’t know how,
We hope for right answers and want them right now,
The remedy lies in our hearts, don’t you see,
God wants us to love so we can be set free,
He wants us to soar with the eagles on high,
He wants us to live life and not simply die,
He wants what is best for the ones who love Him,
We can’t temper hate if we keep it within,
We need a diversion, a comforting place,
A place of sweet silence to end this rat race.
You’ve given me courage too share one of my more abstract pieces. I enjoy abstract art but sharing my attempts somehow, makes me feel exposed…the way we feel more than how we see, the things we think that aren’t taught, our unique experience of life, raw, free of societal constructs. and we all need a place just to be open and honest and express it truthfully.

Thanks for the encouraging poem! I may be wrong but it looks like Paul might have been attempting some Picasso-inspired Cubism?

Kathy, I love your poem and Paul’s painting. It resembles pretty vintage glassware on a shelf by a window. With bright colors beyond. Guess it’s all about one’s perspective.

The thing about this kind of art is that you can decide what it is by using your own imagination. Glad you liked it❤️

You’ll ‘expect’ me to say I like this piece of Paul’s art – right? Well I do. And your poem. He was having fun you say. Exactly. 😎👍

I’ve been having fun too. Picked up some watercolors and gave it a go.
