Paul is currently teaching a virtual class on painting a still life. By making a grouping of random items, he shows how light bounces from one item to the other and creates shadows while picking up colors from each other. The painting is also a reflection of the artist and their own interpretation.
Light, shadows, reflection – an assortment of random objects,
Frozen in a diminutive space – all distinctive yet joined by stillness and solitude,
Augmentation emerges from the busyness and activity of the every day,
But there are times when it must be put on hold for just a moment,
suspended in time, reflected upon,
God says to be still and know that He is in control,
He has all things in His protective hands, His plan includes everyone,
Though we are a smorgasbord of individuals,
a buffet of divergent feelings, needs and emotions,
We can be joined in tranquility and peace, by letting go and letting God work.
Allow the Master Artist to mold, to shape, to color and design your future.
As I reach the end of my years, I find I have a lot of good information stored up in this old decrepit mind of mine. If I don't write it all down, it may vanish and no one will have the advantage of my thoughts. This is why this blog exists. I love the Lord, Jesus with all my heart and soul. I know I'm undeserving of all He's done for me, but I also know that His love is beyond my comprehension.
I've always wanted to write. I never kept diaries, but tucked my thoughts in my head for future reference. I use them now in creating stories, plays, poetry and my blog.
I continue to learn every day. I believe the compilation of our time spent with God will have huge affect on the way we live. I know I'm a sinner and I need a Savior. I have One through Jesus, Christ.
My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on Amazon.com.
Kathy, thanks for sharing Paul’s continuing artistic journey. His eye for details and vision of time standing still is filled with strength and witness to our Creator’s world. As your poem reminds us, we are part of earth’s smorgasbord of unique people, molded in God’s image. God’s peace to both of you.

I'm a retiree in his seventies. That may not be significant to many, since there is a bunch of us Baby Boomers around. However, in the year 2,000, when I received a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, I expected to be dead in three to five years.
