What we see, may not be what we think it is,

A change in color,

The temperature,

The sounds,

The smells,

The tastes,

All things need minute examination,

Before we can decided what is truth,

The beauty of nature can turn sour in an instant,

The glory of a cloudless sky can fill with rage in a second,

What once appeared perfect,

Can become tainted with the darkness of the world,

Spattered with the blood of hatred and indignation,

Our first impressions don’t always tell the truth,

So we must look beyond,

Look forward,

Yet look back to the past,

Within those things we can determine our future,

With the Creator of all things, we can be sure of it.

My book, "Stages - a memoir," is about the seven stages of life from the perspective of a woman. It addresses all the things girls and women go through in life as they travel it with Jesus, and it is available on

  1. Very true! Sometimes first impressions give us a false sense of what is come. Thankfully, our Lord brings us a true sense.
